Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc. focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.
The Aerospace Defense and Marine (AD&M) business of TE Connectivity are leaders in the design, development, engineering and manufacturing of a comprehensive portfolio of connectors, fiber optics, wires, cables, antennas, circuit protectors and moldings for harsh environments. We have a global customer base and over 6000 employees in 18 sites across the world to deliver a broad range of world-class solutions for the Aerospace, Defense, Marine and Oil & Gas industry.

Swindon was acquired in 1998 by Tyco Electronic UK Ltd and is formed of two sites that are linked by a short walk. The site operates 24/7 and has a headcount of around 350 divided into value streams and direct and indirect staff. The facility produces Materials, Wire & Cable, Raceway, Harnessing and EPS which is made for intercompany and trade.
Role Statement
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the challenge is to successfully manager the Wire and Cable Operation processes that will improve our safety, Quality and Deliver Performance. Leading and driving teams to meet and exceed performance targets in a highly pressurised environment; overall responsibility encompasses managing operations 24/7
What your background should look like:
BS degree specific to manufacturing is desirable
Minimum 8 years’ experience working with a manufacturing organization with proven success, min 4 years in prior Production Manager position
Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, focus in SMED,VRK, Standard Work, Daily Management best practices
Familiar with the current requirements of the industrial Quality requirement
Knowledge of financial terms and concepts as it applies to manufacturing finance
Experience working with multiple customers and suppliers in a low volume high mix business
A proven working understanding of SAP within a manufacturing setting or similar sector
Proven communication, both in person and electronically
Able to challenge robustly and prioritize the outputs needed for the facility
Experience working in a unionized facility. This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, Mil Specs.
