Responsibilities
Lead the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) providing technical expertise and achieving objectives. Lead the Maintenance and Facilities team and drive TPM, (MTBF) Mean time between failure and (MTTR) Mean time to repair. Drive quick response from Maintenance regarding machine break downs. Building and facility maintenance and compliance. Identify and prioritise opportunities for continuous improvements projects for both EHS and Facilities.Build relationships across the site to ensure compliance and promote a proactive environment, and health & safety culture. Preparation of EHS reports/metrics for both internal campus, global and external stakeholders. Communicate EHS performance. Lead EHS projects on-site as required and support cross-functional teams.Ensure EHS programmes comply with applicable government regulations, TE Connectivity technical standards and best practices. Promote EHS compliance through detailed EHS programmes, training, and auditing.
Other Responsibilities
Coordinate and drive continuous improvement across environmental and safety programmes. Examples: Internal TE SMS (S.A.F.E), Hazard Management, Unsafe Act/ Conditions, Behaviour Based Safety (BBS), Ergonomics, Chemical Management (REACH, CLP), Energy Reduction, Ergonomics, Machine Safety etc. Maintain site permits, licences, and certificates. Provide governance and guidance for the control of hazardous materials and waste.Manage the EHS accident and incident programme in accordance with HSE and corporate requirements. Develop and manage the EHS and Facilities budget. Represent the company at audits and site visits by the HSE, EPA, BSI and customers.Serve as the primary point of contact for applicable liability insurance claims.Work with the wider leadership team to translate site strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPI's and methods to track them.Ensure strong communication between teams to ensure cross functional collaboration and partnerships to incorporate best practices. Determine and execute on the training and development needs of the team.Carry out regular and meaningful 121's with your team members.Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the business from time to time.
Education And Qualification
NEBOSH NGC or NVQ equivalent minimum (working towards Diploma or NVQ equivalent desired). Ability to think strategically whilst managing the day to day demands. Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level.Experience in a Manufacturing environment. Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimise team performance and development. Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines. Commercially and financially astute
