Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.
This position is responsible for the technical support of production operations under the direction of Engineering & Manufacturing. This is a hands-on position for support of high speed and multi-process manufacturing. The ideal candidate would perform technical duties related to support and enhancement of production equipment through making, modifying, or improving tooling, making repair and PM plans, troubleshooting high speed equipment, and conditioning new production equipment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead projects for the Core Engineering Team in resolution of customer complaints, scrap reductions, efficiency problems, rate improvements, process deviations, Sample Runs, cost reduction projects and Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Analyze automated production equipment for process issues and implement plans for repairs on equipment that will result in improved processes.
• Cost Reduction projects through Six Sigma, 5s and other available improvement tools.
• Primary contact for the assigned team/process for basic technical or routine questions.
• Provide technical assistance and/or training when necessary.
• Ability to multitask.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Sharpen, repair and create close tolerance tooling.
• Maintain and/or support all related process documentation, not limited to but including repair logs, manuals, drawings, and procedures.
• Support Launch receiving efforts for new product, product extensions and processes into the plant.
• Work from verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints, machine manuals and worn or broken parts to determine size, shape, configuration, etc. of needed parts or enhancements.
• Support spare parts requirements and inventory levels.
• Ensures maintenance performed is to the highest quality level.
• Creative and open-minded.
• Follow safety guidelines and other policies and procedures.
What your background should look like:
• Associates Degree or 10 years experience in a high speed manufacturing environment with a strong background in Mechatronics.
• Knowledge of servos and inverter driven AC motors.
• Intermediate understanding of PLC programming languages including RLL, Structured Text and Function Block.
• Advanced understanding of tag based programming such as Rockwell Studio 5000.
• Familiar with Rockwell, Omron, Siemens and Automation Direct brands of PLC hardware and programming software.
• Knowledge of Machine Vision including optics, lighting and software.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, & Outlook.
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools.
• Profound understanding of progressive tool concepts, designs, and assembly.
• Excellent math skills particularly in trigonometry.
• Experience with AutoCAD and 3D modeling preferred.
• An understand of the pilars of TPM

COMPENSATION
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $66,160 - $99,240 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
