Due to an internal reorganisation, we are looking for a Metabolism Support Manager for our Environmental Fate and Metabolism department at our site in Alconbury, Huntingdon . The role is both laboratory and office based and is responsible for the management of the Metabolism store room, the team’s freezer storage facilities, calibration of basic laboratory equipment and ensuring the routine servicing and maintenance of laboratory equipment is completed in compliance with GLP and HSE regulations. The role also involves the line management of a small team of individuals who will support in these duties and perform laboratory support tasks. The position requires the ability to work as part of a team in a commercial environment with practical and organisational skills required to meet customer expectations in quality and timing.
The successful candidate will have a flexible working attitude with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
Line management of support staff, scheduling and allocating work to ensure maximum productivity
Ensuring the store room is fully stocked
The management of on-site storage facilities including long term storage freezers
Performing routine calibration of laboratory equipment which includes but is not limited to: pipettes and balances
Ensuring the laboratory equipment is correctly maintained by liaising with on-site Asset Management/Facilities
Upkeep of records, system labelling and coordination of engineer appointments
On-call temperature controlled unit monitoring (including out of hours)
