  This Opportunity

  WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Superintendent / Inspector - Construction with a Mechanical Background emphasis for our Albany, NY Client's Field Office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

  Your Impact

  Provide assistance to New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Project Manager as directed

  Overall contract compliance via daily inspections

  Completion of Daily Field reports which tract weather, contractor activities, sub-contractors, visitors, field directives, and manpower.

  Review contractor As-Builts monthly to ensure they are updated

  Conduct and document per D&C Procedures onsite QA/QC activities through use of: 1st Delivery Inspections, Closure Inspections, Mock-Up Inspections, and Acceptance Testing

  Prepare and coordinate Pre-Activity meetings prior to significant scopes of work.

  Perform a detailed comparison of the contract drawings, specifications, and approved product submittals to ensure conformance with the contract.

  Monitoring of sub-contractor & supplier usage to ensure pre-approval before work starts

  Assist the contractor(s) with the coordination of activities on the construction site with the other trades and the facility

  Monitor workforce and performance against the work plan

  Coordinate facility training

  Ensure OSHA 10 cards are on file for each worker

  Ensure compliance with generally accepted standards of workmanship

  Offer recommendations to improve constructability

  Complete punch lists and track completion

  Coordination and scheduling with 3rd party specialty inspections (ie: asbestos abatement monitoring or steel inspection)

  Perform additional duties as deemed necessary.

  Travel throughout the region will be required, a reliable vehicle will be necessary with valid driver’s license and be able to work autonomously.

  Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  Who You Are

  Required Qualifications

  High School Diploma

  11 years minimum experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects valued above $10 million, with knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.

  A minimum of 4 years of the experience shall be in the role of assistant superintendent or inspector responsible for large scale projects, multi-contract building projects, valued above $5 million with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.

  Must be able to manage the various projects using established controls and procedures and provide job site leadership in all areas of scheduling, safety, quality, coordination with the designers and any critical issues pertinent to the project or the client / facility.

  OSHA 30 Certification Required

  Strong Mechincal Engineering background with experience of inspection requirements for various trades

  Have a full working knowledge of the change order and cost review process and the review / approval of contractor’s payment application.

  Proficient in basic computer skills utilizing Windows / Outlook / Word / Excel and scheduling applications

  Strong interpersonal skills

  Strong verbal and written communication skills

  Valid driver’s license - Occasional travel within the region will be required.

  Must be available to work alternate work hours on as needed basis.

  Proven ability to adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

  This hire will be contingent upon client selection and successful background check.

  Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

  Preferred Qualifications

  Bachelor's Degree

  Mechanical project background is preferred

  Knowledge of NYS Building Code

  Experience with Submittal Exchange, Bluebeam and Primavera P6 preferred.

  Experience with Institutional Construction preferred.

  Compensation and Benefits:

  Expected Salary: $78,200 - $136,730

  WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.
