Job Summary
Under general supervision of a pharmacist, a Pharmacy Technician II performsadvanced technical tasks within the pharmacy department. Based on area ofassignment, elevated duties may include medication histories, inventorymanagement, call center, and clinical pharmacy support. Demonstrates theability to competently work in general and specialty areas of pharmacypractice
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, peers, nurses, and providers toimprove patient outcomes and quality metrics in both general and specializedareas of pharmacy practice. Triages and escalates any questions or issuesoutside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the staff pharmacist orsupervisor as needed. (30%)Fills and delivers/dispenses medications under the supervision of a licensedpharmacist. Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information.(30%)Complies with established departmental and DHHA policies and procedures,code of conduct, quality improvement, infection control, and safetyinitiatives. Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmentaland legal requirements. (20%)Participates in the training of new employees in both general and specializedareas of pharmacy practice. (10%)Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care. Operatespharmacy equipment appropriately. (10%)Education:
High School Diploma or GED RequiredWork Experience:
1-3 years One (1) year of healthcare-related experience Required1-3 years Three (3) years of pharmacy technician experience, preferred. andLicenses:
PTCBCPHT-Certified Pharmacy Technician - BPS - Board of Pharmacy SpecialtiesRequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
