The Medical Secretary provides support to the ENT department and performs a full range of administrative medical support services while ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, patient registration, answers incoming calls and performs other related clerical functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Scheduling surgeries for providers
Taking messages for providers and handling forms: FMLA/Disability
Prepping charts, scanning documents
Verifies patient insurance coverage and eligibility utilizing computer-based patient registration / scheduling system
Documents appropriate information in patient’s charts using an electronic medical records system
Completes and maintains physician’s schedules, coordinating patient visits and medical procedures
Ensures insurance authorizations are obtained and services are covered in full, communicating information with patients as needed
Obtain prior authorizations for imaging and surgeries

Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience working in a healthcare environment
Proficiency with the use of PC, typing capabilities, and comfort with various software applications such as Microsoft Word and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical secretary office experience
Experience utilizing electronic medical records
Proven excellent customer service skills and ability to multi-task necessary
