  Description

This role can be located in the New York City area.

Do you like helping global software vendors and healthcare organizations design and implement the best medical imaging solutions? Would you like to do this using the latest cloud computing technologies? Do you have a technical vision for what the future of genomics looks like and how it can enhance healthcare globally?

Are you a natural technical leader, able to rally and influence technical teams both inside and outside of your organization? Would you like the opportunity to be an influential global healthcare technical leader at Amazon Web Services? Do you enjoy hands-on designing technical architectures, building prototypes, and then writing and presenting about your work to global audiences?

Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing medical imaging business as part of the World Wide Public Sector group. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS EBS) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers. Your broad responsibilities will include leveraging your domain expertise in genomics to: own the technical engagement and ultimate success of specific global customer implementation projects; define implementation architectures, build prototypes, develop a deep expertise in the AWS technologies; and be a subject matter expert on security as it relates to medical imaging.

As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the global healthcare market for cloud computing, while working with a world class sales and business development team. You will be a global technical leader on medical imaging within AWS, building and leading internal communities to deliver for healthcare organizations and software vendors. You will gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry today across the breadth of enterprise architecture.

The role will work with an assortment of medical imaging-focused partners and customers, including some of the leading providers of medical imaging systems.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the following:

  • Helping healthcare organizations achieve their mission of better patient health

  • Designing and creating system architectures using cloud computing

  • Our company credo: “Work hard. Have fun. Make history.” It’s critical to love what you do and take pride in your value proposition to our customers.

  • Deep-dive technical discussions around design and an intellectual curiosity to always keep your technical skills current while maintaining a pulse on healthcare industry trends.

With experience in the following key areas:

  • Executive speaking and technical presentation skills – White board, small and large group presentations

  • Technical – Medical imaging system development/deployment, architecture, and/or cloud computing experience

  • Operational – IT services operations, management, and security

  • Ability to travel up to 30%
