Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a remote Medical Coding Educator for a large healthcare organization in Cincinnati. This person will ideally be within a 1-hour drive time radius of Cincinnati and must be within Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana. If this person is more than 50 miles, they need to be willing to travel on site as needed for in-person provider meetings approximately 5-10 times per month (exact location will vary depending on provider location, travel expenses are not covered). This team is responsible for physician coding (all out-patient). Other responsibilities will be:
Assist in internal code auditing (this person will not be doing much actual hands-on coding)
Will review audit results then present to providers
Educate the current medical coders
Review coding updates and send information out to providers
Must have good presentation skills and research skills
Speak with the providers professionally
Must be flexible to meet providers per their convenience
Skills and Requirements
5 years experience as a Coding Educator or Auditor
CPC (Certified Professional Coder which is a medical coding credential from AAPC - American Academy of Professional Coders) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist which is a medical coding credential from AHIMA - American Health Information Management Association)
Experience auditing code for accuracy on the physician/out patient side
Proficient with E/M coding (Evaluation and Managment) - must have in depth knowledge about the guidelines in order to teach providers CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor from the AAPC)
Experience with HCC coding (i.e. "risk-adjustment" coding) null
