Job Description
AHIMA, work with the clinical teams (team of nurses, doctors, research analysts) that develop the language of the policy. Once the medical policy is written and this person reads the policy and applies medical codes (procedure, revenue, modifiers through the policies based on understanding and language within the policy). This person is going to work closely with clinician team and bounce questions off of them to ensure the proper coding to collaborate on the language and policy. Once the policy gets approved, it will be puts up on the insurances website for members and providers to see.
Looking for a coder who will be collaborating with the medical team and develop a list of codes and policies (over 800+) policies. The coder isn't responsible for the whole book but will work with the clinical coordinator and be assigned 35 to 40 policies and assigned to 2-3 research analysts, nurses or doctors. No quotas, this person will be assigned 100 policies a year typically. Develops code lists for benefit application, mandate application, and group exception requests working closely with the various areas include Legal department, Sales and Marketing, Product Operations and other key area Reviews coding sources to recommend and develop comprehensive listings of appropriate codes in accordance with coding guidelines, national sources and established rules. Revises coding within policies in accordance with committee, management, medical director recommendations, or based on revision to policy. Serves as a resource to company associates regarding medical coding issues related to departmental documents, projects and inquiries.
*This is 100% remote but candidates must reside in PA, DE or NJ
Skills and Requirements
-4+ years as a Medical Coder w/ experience inputting code
-Coding (read doctors notes and taking words changing into words - taking words into the policy
-MUST RESIDE IN NJ, PA OR DE - Cannot live in other states
-Coding certification MUST BE ACTIVE (CCS or CPC preferred)
-Need experience coding manually across multiple specialties: (radiology, OBGYN, Pathology, surgery, anesthesia, Emergency Room)
-Bachelor's degree Coding Certification (CCS or CPC preferred). null
