Henry Ford Health System’s internal staffing resource pool, designed to ensure there is sufficient staffing throughout our health system. The department is a proactive solution to unplanned or short-term staffing needs due to vacations, call-offs, leave of absences, increases in census or acuity. Opportunities are available at most of our Henry Ford Health System locations within the southeastern Michigan region.
Under direct supervision of the provider and nursing leadership, performs a variety of administrative and clinical tasks to assist in the quality and compassionate care provided to patients. These duties include the greeting and escorting of patients to the exam room; taking medical histories, the measurement and recording of vital signs; preparing patients for the examination/procedure; and assisting the physician during the examination/procedure. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinicalexternship (160 hour minimum). With a minimum of one year continuous work as Medical Assistant with verifiable clinical experience
OR
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical
externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting
within the past five (5) years.
OR
• Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of
five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting.
OR
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
OR
Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year
clinical experience.
OR
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical
medical setting within the past five (5) years.Ability to perform a wide variety of clinical skills as related to ambulatory patient care.
Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
Successful completion of HFMG pharmacology class and test.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current BLS-C certificate.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
