Reporting to the VP of Consumer Marketing, the Media Director position will serve a crucial role in crafting a media strategy to drive growth. This is a critical leadership role within a growth function with a huge scope for impact and growth in a fast paced, purpose driven, category defining business! Chobani refuses to be a traditional CPG company which requires we take a non-traditional but equally effective approach to deploying media to reach consumers, engage the brand in culture and drive shopper behaviors and preferences. The Media Director will supervise and manage all aspects of media strategy, planning and buying for Chobani. They responsible for developing and implementing effective media strategies to grow brand awareness, increase household penetration and engagement, and ultimately stoke love and loyalty for the brand. This role works closely with various internal teams, such as product growth, consumer marketing, omni-channel marketing, creative, and insights & analytics, as well as external media partners, to ensure the successful implementation of full-funnel 360-degree media campaigns.
Responsibilities
Define, develop and implement comprehensive short & mid-term marketing media strategies, seasonal and operational plans across all channels that align with the overall marketing objectives and target audience. Conduct research and analysis to identify target audience demographics, media consumption habits, and market trends to inform media planning decisions. Collaborate with internal teams to define campaign objectives, messaging, and creative assets to ensure effective communication and brand consistency. Determine the right media agency model and directly manage day-to-day relationships with external media vendors, negotiate contracts, and evaluate media proposals to secure optimal media placements and cost efficiencies. Lead all aspects of media buying process, including the selection and negotiation of media channels, placements, and ad formats to improve campaign reach and impact. Monitor and analyze media performance metrics, such as impression reach, frequency, click-through rates, and conversion rates, to optimize media campaigns and achieve desired outcomes. Accountable for delivering media plans and results against the goals and priorities laid out. Develop new ways of working that map to a test & learn and at scale agile model. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging media platforms, and innovative media strategies to recommend and implement new opportunities for reaching target audiences. Collaborate with Insights & Analytics team to collect and interpret data for campaign performance evaluation and reporting to team members. Manage and allocate media budgets effectively, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and adherence to budgetary constraints. Build, lead and mentor a forward-thinking team of media professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to foster their growth and improve their performance.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in Digital Marketing and Retail Marketing, Paid Media, Brand Management, and Brand Marketing Bachelor's degree in marketing, brand management, communications, or related field Expertise in both online and offline media across the funnel (everything from TV and OOH to search and digital retail platforms) Retail media expertise in a CPG or related marketplace, highly preferable Expertise across the Media Lifecycle; Strategy, Planning, Buying, Delivery and Optimization Ability to connect paid with earned/o&o engagement to drive integrated consumer experiences Focus on experience-led, non-traditional approaches to campaigns and media Deeply analytical with strong financial skill Exceptional communication and collaboration skills Experience developing media strategy recommendations that are supported by data and presenting proposals to senior marketing leaders. High-level understanding of campaign set up and architecture, as well as exposure to technical implementation of conversion tracking and the moving parts. Track record in building and scaling Media capabilities and driving Media Transformation Experience across digital media platforms including but not limited to Meta, Google Ads, DV360, LinkedIn, and Google Analytics, Account Based Marketing tools and practices like 6Sense, Folloze, Bombora, Nielsen’s Ad Intel, MediaTools, MRI Retail media networks including but not limited to Kroger’s 84.51, Walmart Media Connect, Roundel, and more.
