The Boeing Company is looking for a Mechanical Systems Engineer to join the Systems Laboratory team in Seattle, WA. This position is part of a team on the leading edge of aerospace development responsible for the verification and validation of airplane Flight Deck and Electrical Power Systems. This position includes:
Design simulated aircraft flight decks to be used in engineering lab testing of avionic/human interfaces, flight control software and flight control laws
Flight deck designs range from simple seat, wheel, column, pedal mockups, to full airplane cab shell with all cockpit equipment. Military airplane simulators include aerial refueling operator stations and surveillance/weapons operator stations
Mechanical design support for airplane electrical power system lab testing which includes mounting airplane generators on drive stands, mounting airplane electrical power distribution system components in racks, and cable/wire routing between electrical generation, distribution, and loads
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Mid-Level Mechanical Systems Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Works with other engineers to identify requirements to apply in test system designs
Designs mechanical mounting of flight deck and electrical power system components
Design mechanical mounting of high-speed generators to drive stands using proven designs
Assists in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test systems
Performs troubleshooting activities during checkout and through the life of the installation
Prepares and presents in design and test readiness reviews
Maintains system configuration/traceability
Works under limited supervision
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience with 3D modeling tools
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience communicating with internal and external customers
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
Experience in mechanical design
Experience following processes, procedures, and specifications
Experience with CAITA V5
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Mid-Level (level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for associate level: $85,850-$116,150
Summary pay range for mid-level: $102,000-$138,000
