About Mechanical Engineer Stf / Sustainment Obsolescence

  Description: Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is one of four Lockheed Martin business areas. We are a recognized designer, developer and manufacturer of precision engagement aerospace and defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries. MFC develops, manufactures and supports advanced combat, missile, rocket, manned and unmanned systems for military customers that include the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, NASA and dozens of foreign allies.

  Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control in Dallas, Texas is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer PAC-3 Sustainment Obsolescence Lead position.

  Responsibilities include:

  -Leading an Obsolescence team composed of component obsolescence engineers

  -Owner of Product and System Obsolescence for Missile and Launcher

  -BOM Analysis by reviewing mechanical piece parts, EEE components, electromechanical subassemblies, and materials for obsolescence and work with engineering to identify and direct obsolescence actions.

  -Help direct build-up of subassemblies after component Last time buy (LTB)

  -Monitor production completion of Lockheed Martin “make” assemblies when consuming obsolete components

  -Awareness/tracking of configuration updates, system compatibility across missile, launcher, and sensor platforms

  -Key engineering interface with development and production obsolescence counterparts

  -Key engineering interface with Spares, Inventory, Failure Analysis, Reliability, Depot, to drive conversation on impact of obsolescence, configuration updates, and future needs

  -Shape relationships and communication flow between all PAC-3 Program Obsolescence partners

  -Semi-annual requirement review with customer: set agenda, coordination with USG, guide slide production, run slide reviews, lead meeting

  Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.

  • Ability to travel approx. 10% of time domestically.

  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance

  • Knowledge of or experience in bill of materials review and obsolescence management

  • Hardware design experience

  Desired Skills:

  • PAC-3 system-level knowledge, experience with design of PAC-3 components, experience with SHIELD or Boeing

  • Exposure to EEE parts/components management

  • Strong background in cross-discipline systems engineering practices including requirements development/maintenance, architecture, hardware/software design, integration and verification

  • Clear and open communicator with demonstrated presentation/speaking skills

  • Leadership experience/potential

  • Ability to mentor

  • Experience with developing BOEs, reviewing suppliers’ BOEs.

  • Certified or working knowledge of Control Account Management (CAM)

  • Experience working with suppliers and leading suppliers during technical issue investigation

  Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

  Clearance Level: Secret

  Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

  Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

  Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
