Manufacturing Engineer / Industrial Engineer / Mechanical Engineer :
Ensure efficient and high-quality production of passenger railcar components. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implementing engineering solutions, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes related to carshell structure fabrication for passenger railcar to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
Collaborate with the design team to assess the manufacturability of the product
Conduct thorough reviews of design specifications, identifying potential challenges, and proposing engineering solutions to enhance manufacturability.
Identify opportunities for automation and implement innovative solutions to enhance production capabilities
Design and develop fixtures and tooling for fabrication processes to enhance precision, repeatability, and efficiency
Collaborate with the design and production teams to create custom fixtures that optimize the welding and assembly processes
Evaluate and select appropriate materials for fixtures and tooling, considering durability and performance requirements
Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure adherence to industry standards and specifications
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any manufacturing-related issues affecting product quality
Act as a key point of contact for any design-related incidences or discrepancies that may arise during the manufacturing process
Investigate and analyze design issues, working in conjunction with the design and production teams to implement timely and effective resolutions
Develop and maintain documentation detailing incident resolutions and lessons learned to inform future design improvements
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans for manufacturing issues
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aeronautical engineering, etc
Previous experience in such roles as : Industrial Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer
Familiarity with quality control methodologies and continuous improvement techniques
Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication techniques, and manufacturing processes
Experience in fixture and tooling design
Proficiency in CAD software ( CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks )
Rolling stock manufacturing experience will be a big plus
Knowledge of welding processes and techniques and familiarity with AWS (American Welding Society) welding codes and standards will be a plus
