The Medical Director with supervision of the associated clinical specialties and service line specific medical directors within their scope serves as a physician leader for the care site within Intermountain Health. This role will have collaborative accountability for the effective implementation of the operating model, including quality and clinical care models; professional demeanor and presentations; professional proposals and business plans for the associated specialties.

Setthecultureofteam-basedcareanddevelopstandardsandprocessestooptimizehigh- functioning clinical care teams.
Createanenvironmentthatmaximizestheengagementandprofessionalsatisfactionof physicians and APPs.
BuildandfosterphysicianandAPPalignment acrosstheserviceline/department.
Collaborate with physicianandclinicalcaregiverrecruitment,retention,andprofessional development.
IntermountainOperatingModelandKPIs
Leadqualityimprovementfocusedprogrammaticdevelopmentincollaborationwiththe CMO.
Assistindevelopment andimplementationofdepartmentalKPIsinalignment withthe IOM.
Directoversightofdepartmentalprocessimprovement withresponsibilityforleadingto achievements of goals.
Workcollaborativelyinpartnershipwithoperational,nursing,andclinicalleadership.
Align practices with operational efficiency and productivity across the department/service line.
Provide leadership, oversight, and support for the development of a culture of high reliability and Just Cultureidentify opportunities, build relationships, and execute strategies to drive the performance and measured improvement of the service line/unit/department.
Work collaboratively with the CMO and ACMO as well as Service Line Executive Lead in coordination of support services including Clinical Programs, Clinical Shared Services, Research, Medical Education, and Clinical Excellence.
PartnerwiththeCMOtoensureseamlesscoordinationoftheservicesandclinicalprogramsacrossthe care continuum.
Participateinregionalandenterprisecollaborativesandcouncilsinsupportofthespecialtyspecific programs and initiatives.
ProvidecaresiterepresentationinspecialtyspecificconsultationasrequestedbyDTSorothersystem operational units.
Stewardship
Workcollaborativelywithdepartmentaldirector(s)tooptimizemanagementofcostcontrolsand efficiencies.Physician Partnership and Support:
Meetregularlywithleadershiptodevelopstrongrelationshipswithprovidersandtodiscussinformation that is essential to the successful performance of the unit(s)/department.
Participateinthecare siteMedicalDirector Council.
Minimum Requirements
MDorDOwithABMSor equivalent AOABoardCertificationinarelevant specialty.
ActiveMedicalLicensure
Minimumthreeyearsofclinicalexperienceinrelevant specialtyandexperienceinleadingsuccessful quality improvement projects within the clinical setting.
Effectiveverbal,written,andinterpersonalcommunicationsskills.
Threeyearsof progressivehealthcareleadershipexperience.
