The Material project Manager is responsible for driving transformational change through the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools within the factory. This position is expected to lead efforts to compress cycle times, improve inventory turns, improve service and reduce waste in all Materials processes. In addition, this position will regularly interface with suppliers, global procurement, operations, hourly plant personnel, engineering, finance, and plant leadership. This is the primary communication link between leadership teams and project teams; works with both project teams and leadership teams to deliver projects on schedule and on budget; identifies and updates risk profile and contingencies as well as developing options during the course of the project.This role may be eligible for relocation.Primary Responsibilities:
Lead site Rapid Improvement Events that focus on Materials Management processesDevelop and manage the reporting system that compares gaps to what is normal and publish explanations for variances.Utilizes lean material flow tools to identify service, cash, and/or cost savings opportunities.Works with the SIOP/Materials Leads to develop and prioritize a projects pipeline for the business.Works with Materials Management teams to improve measurements, analysis, development, and implementation of tools such as gap analysis, process performance, problem escalation, standard work, and cycle time reduction.Assists the Materials teams with new product introduction and team related project completion.Provide materials management project leadership for activities such as VMI implementations, Supplier Transitions, VA/VE, footprint transitions, and new product introductions.Drive material management operation excellence daily by identifying and improving inventory accuracy, material replenishment flow and organization thru the use of Plan For Every Part (PFEP), production loading and scheduling, materials ordering, supplier management and system utilization.Key Competencies and Success Factors:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.Must have the skill set to drive lean transformation by eliminating waste and increasing the velocity of customer orders once released to the facility.Must be able to mentor and coach the site Materials Management group on lean methodologies.Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple priorities at once Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage individuals across all levels within the organizationMust be able to leverage IR Change Management methodology to ensure adherence of new processesThe ability to influence bottom line results.Indirect influence and managementMust have good understanding of manufacturing material flow in a plantQualifications/Experience Needed:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experienceMust be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
