Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill a Material Supervisor to add to our Mobility Customer Service Team. The Material Supervisor is responsible for all material & logistics-related tasks in the maintenance project, with the aim of optimizing the material and logistics costs and ensuring the required quality and material availability for the customer. They will be responsible for detailing and implementing the logistics concept and coordinating it with the project team. The individual in this role will be well-organized and highly motivated. This role will be responsible for leading supply chain activities including order management, monitoring of operational and delivery processes with the objective of sustainable customer satisfaction by optimized processes and resource planning.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Ensure a safe working environment in the office and warehouse and depots.
Supervise material clerks assigned to the warehouse operations.
Operational oversight of material and logistics including: lead inventory cycle count activities at the depots and measure and implement excess inventory reduction strategies. Coordinate the monitoring of minimum stocking levels with the depots.
Customs management of inbound/outbound material and communicate shipment progress/movement and other equipment related matters in a consistent and timely manner.
Identify and assist in developing training material required for material control and Siemens materials to adhere to company policies
Coordinate with CS Material Planner and Central Warehouse for continued flow of standard fulfillment, emergency material needs and other material/logistics requirements
Manage on time receipts of material to the stores, transfers, drop ships and standard fulfillment
Gather, analyze and summarize data to prepare and develop visual charts, graphs and presentations for the monthly reports and other operating reviews
Run and report performance metrics related to customer CTQ’s for stores teams to Project and CS Management, including but not limited to impact of material availability to fleet availability (LHFM, BAM, etc)
Champion an environment of continual improvement with material and supply chain teams and across impacted functions via Workshop events, process standardization, process efficiency and performance measurements
To thrive in this role, you have:
High School Diploma / GED,
5+ years of professional experience in a material and/or logistics coordination role with management experience,
ERP and/or MRP systems as well as additional planning software experience,
Strong experience in various MS Office applications (TEAM’s, Power BI, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, etc.),
Ability to travel: Approximately 10%,
Excellently demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English as well as customer service skills,
The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload,
Setting you apart from others would be a Bachelor’s degree in SCM with experience in managing conflicting metrics such as transportation cost and material availability and familiarity with LEAN and Six Sigma concepts.

The base salary range for this position in Washington DC is $79,400 -107,200. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
