We are looking for a Master Thesis on Green hydrogen and design of power distribution system for a hydrogen plant is expected to play a major role in the clean energy transition of our societies. It can be used in variety of sectors such as transportation, steel industries, for green aviation fuel, etc. It can also be used as a medium to store energy and reuse it later thus addressing the variable nature of renewable energy sources. Supported by EU and national goals, the number of projects with the goal of green hydrogen production is on the rise. The rated power of the individual hydrogen projects is on the rise as well. Plans exist to develop projects up to 1GW of rated power.
Power systems that supply such large electrolyzer load need to be adequately designed to ensure a safe and reliable distribution of electric power for electrolysis process. The plants also need to be designed to minimize their impact on the overall system. Additionally, they can also provide system services to help maintain the stability of the system. The goal of this project is thus to design a power distribution system for a hydrogen plant connected to the transmission system. The impact of the plant on the overall system will be analyzed also. Potential benefits that can be achieved by providing system ancillary services will be investigated.

Your responsibilities:
You will propose a power distribution system for a hydrogen plant.You will design reactive power compensation for the hydrogen plant.To guarantee grid code compliance, load flow and dynamic simulation studies will be performed by you.You will investigate and analyze the potential of providing system ancillary services.You will assess the possibility of offering supplementary services for the system.Living Hitachi energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
Your background:
Your background from electric power engineering program.Proficiency on power system analysis, power system stability and controlExperience with power system simulation tools is desirable (Power Factory, PSS/E, PSCAD)Experience with Python is desirable.Understanding of working in a multi-cultural and diverse environments
