POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Marketing Manager position at Hotel Bennett is an integral part of on-site marketing and communications to ensure that the property is executing digital, print, and social media materials consistent with the corporate brand standards, producing materials in a timely manner and on budget, to meet the needs of the different revenue generating departments. This role helps build marketing plans, targeted campaigns, and identifies and activates channels to drive consumer awareness and preferences, increase market share and build Hotel Bennett brand awareness. Success is measured by how well the marketing efforts help drive the sales and revenue strategy of the property, social media engagement, the effectiveness of marketing and communications campaigns, and leveraging vendor resources to execute the sales plan.
This position works with the Director of Sales & Marketing and home office team to ensure branding and creative standards in all areas are upheld. Manages creative projects from concept to completion, maintains the integrity of the brand voice, and translates marketing objectives into creative strategies to drive revenue while building brand awareness and engagement. The Marketing Manager interacts with designated branding, media, public relations, graphic designers and print companies as sales, spa, food & beverage, and all other revenue producing areas and the corporate office to ensure that all communication material is produced within the agreed upon budget, to company branding standards, and delivered in a timely manner.
In addition, this position manages social media and email marketing platforms. Works closely with corporate team members including VP of Communications, Director of Marketing to ensure strategic marketing communication needs are consistent and being met
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Facilitates social media engagement and updates content in digital channelsReceive, coordinate and manage in conjunction with the DOSM and Corporate Marketing team all requests for marketing materials including on line, electronic, website, presentations, collateral, ads, signage Manage the execution of assigned projects from concept through development, delivery and analysis working with designated designers, copywriters, printers and e-marketers and keep corporate control log updatedSocial Media: Manage all branded and co-branded materials for consistency, accuracy, and adherence to brand standardsMaintain inventory of print collateral and ensure outdated materials discardedManage the CMS (Content Management System) for property and related websites including but not limited to Cvent, Wedding Wire, and CVB.Prepare presentation material for electronic marketing webinars, sales presentations as needed by sales and other revenue generating areasOversee photo shoots, management and file storage in conjunction with Corporate Marketing to ensure outdated imagery is removed from property library and usageActs as the on-property media liaisonMaintain and update property profile, offers and information on websites and portals for partners, i.e. Preferred Hotels, Cvent, Elite Meetings, etc. Identify and keep updated local and regional on-line listing sites for all revenue areas including Food and Beverage, Spa, RoomsManage and prepare files for monthly membership newsletters in conjunction with Corporate MarketingMaintain competitive research for all revenue areas including information for holidays, special eventsPrepare final ROI on all special promotions, events, holidays using the corporate ROI formAssist in growing hotel database, including spa and F & B, and submit to Revinate databaseUtilize Revinate to run analysis reports as requested by DOSM and VP of Marketing Develop landing pages as needed for promotions, local accounts/partners, groups and marketing campaigns in partnership with Corporate MarketingParticipate in weekly marketing meeting with DOSM, F & B, PR, etc… Assist with all other marketing tasks and projects as neededDevelops and executes promotional campaigns in F&B, weddings, spa, rooms and conferences through relevant digital and social media channelsEngages in proactive online reputation management by surfacing relevant guest comments (positive or negative) in social media channels and responds accordingly
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree (B.A.or B.S.) from four-year College or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferredAt a minimum, must possess at least five years related sales experience and training or an Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and related sales experiencePrefer some graphic design background with Dreamweaver, InDesign, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and manuals. Write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style. Ability to speak effectively before groups such as customers or employees. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare reports and budgets. Read and interpret business records and statistical reports. Make business decisions based on reports and similar facts, as well as on experience and personal opinions. Must have sufficient computer skills that will allow them to be able to use, in a proficient manner, all Salamander Hospitality issued software programs implemented, including but not limited to the following:Microsoft Word PowerPoint Microsoft Excel Internet browser programs Knowledge of e-mail platforms Knowledge of CMS (Content Management Systems) Knowledge of basic photo editing, resizing images Basic html knowledge an asset as is experience in InDesign
