The Warn Group is looking for an experienced Truck Driver with a current CDL A driver's license to join our team. A clean driving record and top-notch customer service skills are a must ! Experienced, safety-conscious, and customer-focused drivers are encouraged to apply!
What we’re looking for:
Long-distance driving to customer locations and various tradeshow and consumer events across the U.S. , approx. 150 days per year.
Communicating and coordinating with designated planners .
Obeying and following applicable traffic laws .
Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle / trailer.
Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations .
Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving .
Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules .
Complying with truck driving rules and regulations .
Reporting defects, accidents and violations .
Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.) .
Loading and unloading trailer with forklifts and pallet jacks .
Interacting with customers in a professional manner .
Performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports .
Recording cargo deliveries .
Verifying loads for accuracy .
Requirements for the position:
Loading and u nload ing truck at site involves lifting of heavy materials , including vehicles and operation of heavy equipment .
Must be able to lift 75+ lbs repeatedly throughout the day as we will load/unload the materials by hand and via heavy equipment .
CDL Class A driver license in good standing .
Drivers must be 21 years of age or older .
Will need 12 months of prior and verifiable commercial driving experience .
Airbrake endorsement needed .
Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions .
The ideal candidate will always put safety first and will always wear appropriate PPE
Should prefer working in a team environment but be comfortable working on independent tasks .
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, to be familiar with not just traffic laws but rules regarding how often you are required to rest, maximum miles driven and the like .
A clean driving record .
Physical fitness, since Truck Drivers are required to pass a physical exam every two years .
Hand-eye coordination, since you must coordinate hands, legs and eyes to maintain a fast reaction time on the roads .
Visual and hearing acuity, in accordance with federal regulations which mandate that truck drivers must hear a forced whisper at 5 feet, have at least 20/40 vision, a 70-degree field of vision and the ability to distinguish the colors of traffic lights .
What will give me an edge over other applicants?
Experience handling tradeshow displays, vehicles and/ or merchandise materials .
Forklift and pallet jack experience .
Should be comfortable driving a n 1 8 -speed manual transmission truck and operate heavy equipment for unloading .
