Position Overview
Kiewit seeks a detail-oriented, solutions-minded Marketing Communications Specialist to join our Energy & Industrial Marketing & Proposals Team. The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the development of strategic and tactical marketing deliverables that contribute to acquiring new business. District Overview
The Kiewit Energy marketing, creative and proposal team provide get-work services to an array of markets, including power generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, industrial, oil and gas, and water/wastewater. Individuals in this department get exposure to a mix of high profile, complex pursuits across North America valued from $5M-$6B. This incredibly profitable, competitive, fun group focuses on winning more work with high-quality, client-focused sales strategies through creative communication techniques. Our rapidly growing team, which includes graphic designers, proposal professionals, writers, digital strategists, marketers, and data analytics brings vast experience, communication expertise, innovative concepts, and best practices to all projects we support across the company.
Location
This position can be based at either of our Lenexa, KS or Lone Tree, CO office. Opportunities for flexible work are available.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal clients, including the Markets & Strategy teams and subject matter experts, to develop compelling deliverables that contribute to winning work
• Develop an array of internal and external marketing and communications deliverables, including PowerPoint presentations, marketing collateral, digital marketing content, events-related materials, advertisements, video production support, and more, adhering to Kiewit’s brand voice and visual standards
• Research, outline, format, write and copyedit compelling and engaging technical and nontechnical content for client-facing marketing materials
• Self-educate on applicable industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging marketing tools to continually enhance the Kiewit’s marketing effectiveness
• Facilitate meetings, manage the schedule of assigned deliverables, follow standard operating procedures and meet deadlines/timely submissions
• Use our historical project experience database to create captivating messages that tell our unique story; contribute to/maintain our centralized experience database with relevant data and information
• Provide support to our internal events team as they execute the planning and logistics for conferences, tradeshows and client events
• Collaborate with your Energy & Industrial Marketing & Proposals team (i.e. graphic designers, events planners, data analysts, proposals and marketing staff) to support your projects
• Assist with department planning, training and process improvement initiatives
• Perform other departmental or administrative duties as needed, including proposal support, internal communications, meeting support, document formatting, copyediting, production and shipping
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism, business or related field
2-5+ years of corporate marketing or communications experience, portfolio required
Experience in the A/E/C industry preferred. Power, Power Delivery, or Industrial engineering or construction is a plus.
Solutions-provider mentality with the ability to work well independently and with others; maintains a positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Strong writing and editing skills. Knowledge of AP Style is a plus.
Demonstrated commitment to quality, meticulous attention to detail and consistency in work product
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to professionally incorporate constructive feedback
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Occasional (less than 10%) travel is required.

Base Compensation: $69,425 - $106,618
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
