As the Market Intelligence & Strategy Specialist, you will provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to support Vestas' strategic planning and business decisions, combining an understanding of power market fundamentals, clean energy customer and project economics, public policy, and customer activities to create the analytical framework to achieve short-term profit maximization and long-term wind competitiveness in future power markets.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a go-to individual for market knowledge and analysis needs in the North American region covering the U.S. and CanadaLead the Market Intelligence & Strategy's team efforts on turbine sales forecastingBe the go-to-person for capturing competitive intelligence on topic such as supply chain, transport, product, quality, and service offerings across onshore and offshore windMaintain and improve project economics model utilized for value engineering on onshore wind projectsSupport business development efforts through research, data analysis and customer engagementsQuantify impact of external market factors such as economic incentives, supply chain price volatility, environmental restrictions, and federal/state/local governmental rules as it may impact company and project financialsCollaborate to leverage Vestas data streams into GIS-based market intelligence platformCollaborate with executives and Vestas stakeholders to implement special projects, primarily through data analysis and visualization and/or project economic modeling
Essential Functions:
Advanced Excel skillsFinancial Modeling experienceSolve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisionsEffective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical termsAbility to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goalsIndependently manage cross-functional projects and stakeholders
Education, Training, and Skills Required:
Bachelors' degree in engineering, economics, environmental management or finance, Masters preferable5+ years of professional experienceExperience working in energy and a basic understanding of energy marketsExcellent communication skills, oral and written, and interpersonal interaction.Travel required as an essential element of job (< 10%)
