Manufacturing and Harness Technician

Our facility in Goleta, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Harness Technician specializing in harnessing and related electrical assembly and test, with aerospace industry experience working on small, medium and/or large government and commercial programs.
A cable harness technician manufactures cable / harness products. Reads and interprets Work Instructions, schematics, wirelists, and drawings. Ensures quality of the hardware is maintained and company procedures are followed. Ensures work is done with completeness, accuracy, adherence to operation sheets, ISO procedures, schedules, and assign tasks. Provides regular communication to shop leads and Work Center management on status and technical issues.Primary Responsibilities :
Will be reviewing, interpreting, maintaining, and completing paperwork and electronic data associated with hardware assemblies to maintain data and material traceability.
Will be working with electrical harness assemblies, including interpreting schematics and building compliant electrical assemblies as well as conducting electrical tests such as continuity and insulation resistance.
Will be routing wiring harnesses on flight hardware.
Will follow procedure and direction from management as well as work from drawings or sketches, and collaborate with engineers to develop or proof new processes.
Will work with soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, contact insertion and removal, harness routing and strain relief.
Will work with structural bonding and application of coatings using various epoxy and silicone adhesive products.
Working level understanding of force, torque, and precision hand tools.
Work to follow and determine, optimum order of assembly for complex harnesses, mechanical structures, and devices.
Basic Qualifications for level 1:
High school diploma or GED 0 years of additional education and/or related experience
Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
Ability to be on feet for up to various hours each day
Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules
Basic Qualifications for level 2:
High school diploma or GED 2 years of additional education and/or related experience
Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English.
Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
Ability to be on feet for up to various hours each day
Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with solar cell technology and CIC wiring
Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic
Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and Schematics, preferred.
Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
J-STD-001 Soldering Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
NASA STD 8739.1 Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
NASA STD 8739.4 Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
Knowledge of ESD and Flight Hardware handing
Salary Range: $39,900 - $66,500
Salary Range 2: $47,600 - $79,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
