POSITION OVERVIEWThe Manufacturing Engineering Manager will direct and coordinate the work of manufacturing engineers, documentation, and facility maintenance personnel, placing emphasis on process developments, production problem resolution and implementation of LEAN programs with the objective of streamlining production lines to increase and expand capacity. The incumbent will continuously improve the cost of manufacturing and quality over the full life cycle of the product.

Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods ensuring the highest quality, lowest cost, lowest scrap, and optimum capacity.Leads and directs the manufacturing engineering team to obtain optimum productivity while reaching strategic goals.Lead the implementation of LEAN principles and activities to optimize productivity and minimize costs.Provide guidance regarding design/manufacturing concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to include standard work.Leads in the development of processes, tooling, and procedures to drive improvements and best practices.Determines and reviews all manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility, both before and after engineering releases to manufacturing.Oversee the documentation department coordination of all engineering releases and changes, setting standards, data entry, and follow-up.Participate in design reviews and responsible for improving the design for manufacturability (DFM) early in the design phase of new product development.Conduct a continuous search of new materials, fixtures, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the production lines to help the operation to reduce overall costs.Manages staff selection, performance, development, and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities are aligned with business goals and expectationsWork closely with the quality and operations teams to manage root cause corrective actions related to internal or external quality concerns.Other responsibilities as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Background
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.Minimum 10 years' experience including standards developments; equipment justifications, plant layouts and facilities design in manufacturing industries.Up to 25% travel required, both inside and outside the continental U.S.This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. Advanced knowledge of Kaizen and LEAN manufacturing techniques, certificate in Lean Manufacturing preferredExperienced and able to do time studies, flow analysis, workload balancing, SPC, process sequence analysis and/or value stream mappingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP softwareExercise sound judgment and leadership skills in making management decisionsAn energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional imageStrong attention to detai , good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize with changing situationsStrong interpersonal,written, and verbal communication skills to drive tasks to completionAble to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressureProficient in English (reading, writing and verbal skills)Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.Education

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
