The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for maintaining and developing best practices for the production of the Apollo Press product line. This includes but is not limited to: updating drawings for parts and tooling, troubleshooting machine problems, developing standard work, and participating in lean production activities. The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as an integral team member within the Manufacturing Engineering Group, reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities :
Evaluate and recommend changes in methods and procedures in assigned areas of responsibility
Assesses new manufacturing technologies for potential investment
Specify and assist in the specification, procurement, and installation of machinery and tooling
Design tooling, fixtures, and inspection equipment through the use of 3D solid modeling and 2D drafting software
Provide support in the form of troubleshooting tooling and machinery problems
Assists in the development of maintenance (TPM) plans and instructions for all machinery in the department
Performs other special projects/tasks assigned by management
Participates in continuous improvement or problem/solving activities
Assist in the development and upkeep of Standard Work
Basic Hiring Criteria :
Bachelor of Science in Engineering ( Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology preferred)
Understanding of Lean manufacturing basics (8 Wastes, TPM, Kaizen, SMED)
Familiarity with 3D CAD software, Solid Edge, a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Able to function in a highly collaborative environment and interact positively and openly with employees, supervisors, and other departments
Able to work constructively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
Familiarity with BOM, Routings, and Time Studies
Desired Qualifications :
3-5 years of experience
Self-starter attitude and ownership mentality for projects
Willingness to continuously learn and expand responsibilities
Ability to communicate effectively with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Ability to meet strict deadlines within a fast-paced environment
