About Manufacturing Engineer

  Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer. This position is located at our Beltsville, MD location. Our Beltsville, MD manufacturing facility is home to 400+ passionate and creative team members. Our products power hundreds of military and commercial aircraft platforms with a focus on improved reliability, weight reduction and fuel efficiency. Components & products developed at our location are used for the Mar's Rover, protecting the Declaration of Independence, and keeping passengers cool and safe as they travel to their favorite vacation destinations.   The expected annual salary range for this role is $71587.53 - $104995.04 a year.

  What you'll do:

  This role is responsible for development and application of technology and tools designed to deliver the future state of process automation (Advanced Manufacturing 4.0 and digitization) in operations at the Beltsville, MD manufacturing facility. The Manufacturing Engineer will be a key member of the Beltsville, MD Industry 4.0 deployment team responsible to drive the implementation of projects in areas such as automation, digital work instructions, additive manufacturing, augmented reality, simulation, OEE, SPC among others. This role will identify, develop, and drive the deployment of technology-based solutions for enabling a digital transformation within our manufacturing operations. This includes equipment connectivity, plant application reporting, analytical skills, and dashboards that accurately represent manufacturing process status and performance.

  In this function you will:

  Act as a project manager for i4.0 deployments by defining and tracking leading and lagging metrics (KPIs), maintaining regular communications with all key stakeholders, and investigating and troubleshooting problems as they arise to ensure successful implementation. Partner with engineering to sustain, and continuously improve manufacturing processes already incorporating i4.0 by actively supporting High Performance Work Teams, troubleshooting machines, and tooling problems, collecting, and analyzing manufacturing data, supporting the DMR process for disposition of non-conforming materials, etc.Develop i4.0 business cases in alignment with our technology roadmaps.Lead proof-of-concepts and prototyping projects in i4.0.Keep abreast of current with developing technologies and educate engineering and operations leaders.Act as a steward for environmental, health and safety safe by using MESH (Eaton Environmental, Safety and Health process), and other Eaton and industry standard practices. Design processes to ensure that components and assemblies meet all internal and external customer quality specifications (Eaton Quality System, AS9100, NADCAP, etc.).Work with suppliers and our procurement team to procure equipment, tooling, and supplies as required.

  Qualifications:

  Required:

  Currently possess or will have obtained a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution no later than June 2024.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

  Preferred:

  Master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.Two or more relevant internships or co-op experiences preferably in manufacturing, and / or industrial automation, Experience in the aerospace industry.Additive manufacturing experience3D modeling experience (Solidworks, CATIA)CNC machining and programming experienceIndustrial or collaborative robot experienceKnowledge of industrial controls and electrical systems
