As a Manual Machinist for IPS, you will identify problems and make necessary adjustments as they relate to industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators. You will use a variety of manual machine tools and balancing equipment for rotating machinery, while following service center safety procedures. You will need to have excellent attention to detail and an ability to work from drawings, sketches, and blueprints.Operate manual machining tools to include engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drilling machines, and related equipmentSafely use overhead, gantry cranes, and left trucks, and associate lift riggingPerform mechanical measurements using portable mechanical instruments such as dial indicators, micrometers, and portable vibration measurement equipmentQualifications and Competencies3 or more years of experience as a machinist for electric motor repair preferredAbility to read micrometer measuring equipmentAbility to operate manual lathes of various size and dimensionsAbility to operate electro-plating equipmentAbility to perform basic math functionsAbility to understand, perform and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety proceduresAbility to work overtime and weekends as requiredPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of timeAbility to lift, push, pull, carry items up to 50 lbs.Benefits:Paid Time Off401k Employer MatchOn-the-job TrainingTuition Reimbursement ProgramMedical, Dental and Vision plansSafety shoe & glasses reimbursementAnd more!Any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
