As a Manual Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible forsetting up, operating, and maintaining manual lathes to producehigh-quality precision components. Your attention to detail, technicalexpertise, and dedication to producing accurate parts will be crucial toour success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machine Setup: Prepare and set up manual lathes for machiningoperations, ensuring proper tooling, workholding, and alignment.
2. Material Preparation: Select and load raw materials into the lathe,secure workpieces in the chuck or collet, and make necessary adjustmentsto achieve proper concentricity.
3. Tool Selection: Choose appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and toolholders based on job requirements, and install them securely.
4. Machining Operations: Operate manual lathes to perform turning,facing, tapering, threading, and other lathe operations to meetspecified tolerances and surface finish requirements.
5. Maintain quality standards.
6. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on manual lathes,including cleaning, lubrication, and tool changes, to ensure optimalperformance.
7. Documentation: Record job information, inspection results, andmachine maintenance activities accurately.
8. Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues that may ariseduring machining, such as tool wear or material defects.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training inmachining is preferred.
Proven experience as a Manual Lathe Machinist.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings andblueprints.
Strong knowledge of lathe tooling, cutting speeds, and feeds.
Ability to perform complex setups and machining operations with a highdegree of precision.
Familiarity with various materials, including metals and plastics.
Proficiency in using precision measuring tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-qualitywork.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Basic computer skills for data entry and machine control.
Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to a safe workenvironment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials up to50lbs
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Good vision and depth perception for close inspection of workpieces.

8:00am till 5:00pm
Pay:
\$23.00 - \$25.00/ hour DOE
