The Opportunity
Black & Veatch is seeking a highly experienced director to continue and drive the Utility Customer Services Business focused on optimizing Meter to Cash Operations and the End Utility Customer Experience through technology advancements, process optimization, and data analytics. The candidate will have a proven track record of implementing both Utility Meter to Cash solutions and Customer Experience solutions. The candidate will also have experience consulting various utilities on options and consideration for Customer Operations as well as helping Utilities streamline Customer Operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing client and pursuit strategies, leading business development activities, and ensuring client satisfaction. It is essential that the candidate has experience in delivering customer projects through all phases of engagement.
Directors in this role are expected to be highly client-focused, selling and leading projects and programs in collaboration with project teams and utility organizations. The candidate must be willing to travel to various client sites as required. #LI-NK1 #LI-Hybrid

In many of our roles, you will work with a team of consultants, and financial analysts, with the expectation to collect and analyze data, develop technical assessment reports, conduct site visits, develop, and maintain client contacts, and develop overall project management responsibilities over time. Consultants in this practice generally work on multiple concurrent projects at a given time.
Key Responsibilities
Selling
Responsible for selling value-driven customer projects to clients
Responsible for maintaining and nurturing client and industry contacts to aid in connecting with clients and selling projects
Participate in developing and evolving the Customer Programs & Experience strategy and offerings
Prepare and implement Client Development Plans for assigned clients
Develop client and pursuit strategies
Serve as a Sales Director and provide leadership to project and pursuit teams
Meet new business and earnings financial goals
Identify key client interests and drivers on projects and pursuits and communicate with team members
Lead and support business development and sales activities including delivering sales presentations promoting the company’s Customer Capabilities and the value of such capabilities
Develop and manage client relationships and when required challenge client’s current strategy and direction through persuasive argument
Delivery
Responsible for delivering value-driven customer projects implementations leading a team, using defined project management methodology including managing expectations within defined scope of the engagement.
Developing deliverables including overall Project Plans, Project Strategy, Customer Business Processes, Customer Requirements, Change Management Strategy, Testing Strategy, and delivering overall projects.
Contribute to quality review on customer engagements
Further extend company’s applicable knowledge base and capabilities by updating best practices to redefine tools and techniques
Outline specific performance measures, targets, and goals to articulate the business case for realized efficiencies or added value
Define competitive advantage and achievable value to the client through use of the strategic change components and metrics
Supervise and mentor project team members

Understanding of the trends in the Customer Programs & Experience space within the utility market

Manage, identify, and access risks and issues to properly prioritize and propose solutions; escalate complex issues when necessary

Recommend appropriate resources based on the phases of an assignment
Delegates work to assigned team members
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree
7 years of experience focused on Utility Customer Experience, Customer Service and Billing, AMI, and Operational Technologies capabilities
2 years of project management experience leading project teams
Certified in Oracle CC&B
Experience conducting readiness assessments, evaluate results and present findings
Expertise developing a set of actionable and targeted project plans
Proven ability to be an active and visible coach to junior resources
Experience in other Utility Areas – Infrastructure, Distribution, Work and Asset
Management

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience
Has successfully managed multiple engagements simultaneously
Contributor or leader to acquire new engagements
12-15+ years in a business/consulting environment
