  As American Express continues along an impressive growth trajectory, the company is preparing for heightened capital requirements as well as additional changes in capital as a result of Basel III Endgame (B3E). American Express has launched Project Fast Forward to enhance its processes and to ensure we meet regulatory expectations across the company. To prepare for the capital specific enhancements, Treasury is establishing a team within the Capital Enterprise Management Organization (CEMO) to interpret these new capital requirements and uplift capabilities, while also identifying opportunities to streamline and improve efficiencies across existing capital processes.

  As a member of CEMO, the Manager role will be responsible for leading the capital workstream related to Project Fast Forward and B3E. The Manager will have significant exposure to global stakeholders and senior leaders across Treasury, Controllership, Risk, Corporate Planning and Technology. The team will act as the subject matter expert for Capital, and partner with those leaders to ensure progress against project milestones and requirements. The team will also be responsible for creating and maintaining materiality frameworks and analytics to understand the impacts the new requirements will have on capital management and capital ratios. Lastly, the Manager will look holistically across current capital processes, such as Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR), Stress Testing Scenario Design and Data Governance and uplift, to identify opportunities for streamlining and automation.

  How will you make an impact in this role?

  Researching and interpreting new capital regulation and requirements and identifying the implications for American Express

  Extensive stakeholder engagement and coordination across multiple organizations, including Treasury, Controllership, Risk, Corporate Planning and Technology, to understand new data and reporting requirements and impacts

  3 Data analytics to understand potential impacts to American Express capital requirements and capital ratios

  Thought leadership on capital project planning and strategy

  Ensuring all stakeholders meet key capital program milestones and updating senior leadership on the progress versus those milestones

  Analyzing existing capital processes such as CCAR and Stress Testing Scenario designing to identify opportunities for streamlining and automation

  Minimum Qualifications

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – able to work with ambiguity, grasp complex concepts and synthesize information to come up with thoughtful and practical recommendations

  Exemplary communication skills with the ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages, and catering these key messages to different audiences and band levels

  Proactive, enthusiastic individual who can work both independently and collaboratively to resolve challenges in a demanding and fast-paced environment

  Proven ability to manage multiple demands successfully within a matrixed organization

  Strong relationship leadership with a track record of positively collaborating, influencing, and extensively coordinating with business partners, including senior leaders

  Powerful professional presence with the ability to set the right tone when engaging with others

  Preferred Qualifications

  Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
