What you'll do...
Walmart's US Income Tax Team is comprised of dedicated tax professionals responsible for managing and optimizing the company's income tax compliance and strategy across the United States. The team ensures adherence to all federal, state, and local tax laws, while actively working to enhance tax efficiency. We take pride in our comprehensive approach, which encompasses income tax compliance, reporting, research, analysis, and accounting.
Walmart has an opportunity for an experienced manager to join Walmart's US Income Tax team. This is a pivotal role where you will manage federal income tax returns and tax accounting functions. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing financial data, reviewing workpapers and supporting schedules, and leveraging professional tax software to process this data.
What you'll be doing:
Gathering financial data from business departments and divisions and incorporating it into tax returns.
Reviewing workpapers, supporting schedules, and leveraging professional tax software to process financial and tax data.
Partnering with the tax controversy team to manage tax notices and recommend resolutions within established timelines.
Assisting with SOX 404 documentation for tax accounting controls.
Staying up to date on changes in tax laws and regulations and providing analysis on the impact of federal and legislative matters.
Ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations by staying current on changes in tax law and identifying necessary system or process changes.
You'll sweep us off our feet if...
You have 4-6 years of experience managing federal income tax returns, forms, and reporting.
A solid understanding of federal and state income tax laws.
Proficiency in MS Office, tax and accounting software, and data analytics tools.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in an agile environment and manage multiple tasks within tight timelines.
