About the Job
As the Manager, SOX Compliance working in the Accounting Organization and reporting to the CAO, you will be responsible for leading compliance with requirements under SOX and COSO standards. This includes SEC and statutory reporting, G/L and consolidations, revenue accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, tax, treasury, equity and credit & collections. This position requires a detailed knowledge of SOX and COSO, excellent communications, critical thinking, strong leadership skills, and project management.
What You'll DoOwn Accounting's compliance with requirements under SOX and COSO standardsBuild and maintain close working relationships with all internal Elastic management teams as well as external/internal audit, and ensure a deep understanding of key risks and processes of the organizationReview and ensure SOX controls are sufficient for a $1B to $5B business, incorporating automated controls wherever possiblePerform assessments of the SOX impact of new initiatives, including changes in processes and procedures, system implementations/updates, new accounting standards and various special projects, ensuring the SOX controls are appropriately designed for a scaling businessCommunicate required changes to all process owners as needed, and assist with ongoing training activities including providing training to the internal finance and accounting organization in areas of controls, policies and procedures and SOX complianceCoordinate with each process and control owners and external auditors and advisory partners on various matters including planning activities, walkthrough participation, evidence requests, information sharing, and status updatesWork with process owners to provide sufficient support to evidence control performance, and coordinate with our internal and external auditors and advisors on provided by client (PBC) document requestsAssist with the collection and review of third-party SSAE 18 (SOC) reportsLead and perform research documenting SOX issues and track remediation to conclusionReview findings from audits and facilitate the remediation plansTrack and report overall SOX assessment status for reporting to senior managementWhat We're Looking ForRecent Big 4 (assurance or advisory) or a national public accounting firm experience as a manager or senior manager roleProfessional certification such as CPA, CIA or similar is preferredProven experience with implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the 2013 COSO framework and SEC guidance for management's assessment of internal controls over financial reportingExperience with internal controls including process control design, preparation of flowcharts & control matrices, documentation and testing of controls, and identification and reporting of control "gaps" requiredCommitment to continuous improvement and a dynamic approach to driving control automationHighly effective communication and collaboration skills (verbal and written), excellent analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to manage several priorities and work independently while optimally delivering resultsExperience working with a $1B+ revenue companyAble to thrive in a fast-paced setting
Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.
An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Elastic believes that employees should have the opportunity to share in the value that we create together for our shareholders. Therefore, in addition to cash compensation, this role is currently eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program. Our total rewards package also includes a company-matched 401k with dollar-for-dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits offered with a holistic emphasis on employee well-being.

$106,900 - $169,050 USD
