How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Security B35 Risk and Compliance Manager
Global Security protects the Company, its customers, and its colleagues against harm and losses by providing a full range of physical security services. Global Security is also responsible for performing investigations related to the possible violation of a criminal law or suspected wrongdoing. American Express relies on the Global Security Investigation’s team to assist it in the identification and/or mitigation of fraudulent or criminal activity. Additionally, Global Security is responsible for the Crisis Management Program which involves the coordination and control of any event which threatens the life or safety of AXP colleagues and visitors, the brand image of the Company, or business operations and assets.
This role provides a unique opportunity to work with a global team and gain a deep understanding of the Global Security Department’s processes. This role will support Global Security in the areas of Operational Risk, Audit Management, Third-Party Compliance, Business Continuity, and other initiatives related to internal risk and process controls. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Working with stakeholders from multiple departments within American Express to drive risk, privacy, and compliance related projects forward. Providing ongoing visibility of global initiatives to include the project plan, progress, dependencies, and risks to colleagues, leadership, and business partners.
Create and review Departmental policies and procedures documents.
Manage the Global Security third party vendor management and business continuity program requirements.
Assist in executing on the Department’s operational risk program requirements to include proactively assessing risks and escalating issues when needed.
Obtaining an understanding of the audit processes required to effectively manage and respond to internal and external audit inquiries on behalf of the Global Security Department
Minimum Qualifications
Three to five years relevant experience in public service or the private sector specializing in risk, audit, or compliance. Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple global initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to adapt, be flexible, and self-motivated in a team environment.
Multi-tasker who can manage multiple streams of work concurrently.
Dynamic, collaborative, and team focused individual with excellent communication skills is a must.
Logical, consultative, adaptive to change, and an informed risk taker. Maintains a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to challenge the status quo, inspire change, influence without direct authority, and deliver results.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues across multiple business functions.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification (e.g., CPP, CISA, CISM, CISSP, etc.)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Strong understanding of audit, operational risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Proven experience in at least one of the following:
Privacy, to include Privacy Risk Assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments
Process Risk Self-Assessment / Operational Risk
Third-Party Management
Business Continuity Management (business continuity plans / business impact analysis).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially MS Excel and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
