  The Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) Analytics team within Business Insights and Analytics (BIA) partners with the Bristol Myers Squibb GPS organization to support data analytics for all functions within GPS. GPS Analytics focuses on answering key business questions that will drive prioritized business decisions using advanced analytics and data science. The team will answer key business questions that will drive prioritized business decisions using advanced analytics and data science.

  The Manager, Quality Analytics will work towards these objectives, with a focus on QA and QC processes and IT systems. It will be a key member of the Global Product Development and Supply (GPS) Analytics team within Business Insights and Analytics (BIA). Collaborating closely with the Bristol Myers Squibb GPS organization, this role focuses on providing data analytics support for quality functions within GPS. The successful candidate will be responsible for addressing key business questions, driving prioritized business decisions using advanced analytics and data science techniques.

  Qualifications

  The ideal candidate should possess expertise in the following areas:

  Data analytics

  Data visualization

  Statistics

  Machine learning

  Predictive modeling

  Decision analysis under uncertainty

  Artificial intelligence/GenAI

  Proficiency in Python and/or R

  App development,

  Tableau dashboard development

  Additionally, the candidate must be an exceptional communicator with strong presentation and writing skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively is crucial.

  Responsibilities in Detail

  Supporting Business Decisions:Work closely with business stakeholders to proactively identify and address priority business questions within quality analytics.

  Embed an objective and unbiased point of view into the business conversation.

  Drive the application of fact-based decision making for key questions within quality analytics and portfolio deliverables.

  Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the quality functions’ business priorities.

  Build relationships with key stakeholders and senior leaders within the quality functions and Business Insights and Analytics.

  Demonstrate the ability to influence senior leaders to adopt analytics-derived insights.

  Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence:Conduct detailed team walkthroughs and peer reviews of the team’s work to ensure quality, cross-training, and knowledge management within the quality analytics sector.

  Lead standardization of analytics and process methodologies in GPS Analytics, specifically focusing on quality analytics.

  Author detailed documentation that describes analytics tool development, assumptions, input data, and data processing. Author user manuals for dissemination within the stakeholder user base.

  Mentor/coach junior team members on technical topics.

  Guide external consultants in the adoption of quality analytics standards.

  Driving Analytics and Capabilities:Design, develop, and implement a broad array of business analytics that solve complex problems in a computationally efficient and statistically appropriate manner within the quality analytics domain.

  Identify new opportunities to further leverage analytics, data, and analytical tools within quality analytics.

  Actively manage multiple projects in parallel from charter through completion within quality analytics.

  Ensure best practice adoption within quality analytics, applying appropriate levels of technical capability, standardization, and subject matter expertise.

  Define standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision-making processes within quality analytics and utilize appropriate escalation processes.

  Act as a subject matter expert of the Bristol-Myers Squibb technology stack within the quality analytics team and provide technical leadership for driving technology solutions in analytics deployment.

  Drive capability build for data automation, cloud computing, and data lake integration within quality analytics.

  Contribute to defining the overall team strategy in collaboration with team leadership.

  Qualifications & Experience

  Minimum Qualifications:

  Ph.D. in engineering, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or other quantitative area of study with 0-3 years of experience.

  M.S in engineering, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or other quantitative area of study with 3-5 years of experience.

  B.S. in engineering, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, or other quantitative area of study with more than 5 years of experience.

  2+ years hands-on working in the area of data science, data analytics, data integration, reporting.

  2+ years of hands-on experience with data science and analytics, modeling platforms, data engineering software, and visualization tools (e.g., Advanced SQL, PL/SQL, R, Python, S3, Spotfire, Tableau, Hadoop, Redshift).

  Ability to architect analytic and data science solutions.

  Experience:

  Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team-building, and communication skills to ensure effective collaborations within matrix teams.

  Exceptional project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and priorities.

  Exceptional analytical skills with substantial knowledge of data analysis & data engineering.

  Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  Ability to quickly gain and apply functional area-specific knowledge.

  Ability to learn new tools and skills quickly.

  Proven ability to lead small teams/groups and manage a heavy workload.

  Experience working in the pharmaceutical development or supply chain space.

  Experience interpreting analytical results and ascertaining implications for the business.

  Experience interacting with business stakeholders: understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/analytical information requirements.

  Exceptional creative problem-solving skills to answer key business questions.

  Ability to work with diverse teams across organizational lines and structures.
