Manager - Product Management, Finance Data Experience

Our product team is part of a larger group focused on the transformation of Finance at Capital One. On Demand Finance is what we are calling our transformation journey and we have a clear vision of the destination. We are currently focused on reimagining our associate experience, reducing manual work and enabling associates to leverage streaming and enriched data so they can provide real-time insights that enable enhanced decision making at every level. Ultimately our Product journey will transform the Finance organization and how we develop and deliver critical business outcomes, in addition to how we engage with partners across Capital One.
The Finance Data Experiences team oversees ODF’s critical agenda to build an efficient, scalable, and high quality data environment for Finance. In this role, you will lead ODF’s data transformation efforts to standardize and modernize data feeds into Capital One’s core platforms through prioritization of focus areas for finance, discovery, defining MVP, building and testing POC’s.
As a Product Manager on the Data Experience team, you will take ownership for defining and operationalizing some of the company’s most important data. You will work closely with data analysts, engineers, and other cross functional teams to create integrated roadmaps, prioritize development, define metrics and key results and deliver scalable, resilient and quality Data Products that power the company’s most critical experiences.
As the Manager, Product Management, you will:
Prioritize and lead discovery in complex data spaces for standardization and modernization
Define MVP’s, rationalize & recommend data modernization sequencing, goal setting, story writing, product execution, testing, and product roll-out strategy
Thrive at the intersection of data and business strategy - able to understand complex business intent and translate strategy into data requirements that promote consistent, reusable and interoperable data consumption
Framework driven approach to problem solving with ability to simplify technical complexity and drive well-educated business decisions across stakeholders
Exceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.
Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partners
Execute with a sense of urgency to deliver solutions and on priorities
Demonstrate strong ability to intuitively identify impediments on the critical path and unblock them.
Champion the use of the right technology to deliver on product initiatives and strategic intents
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
At least 2 years of experience in digital product management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
MBA or Master’s degree
At least 4 years of experience in Agile product management
At least 4 years of financial services product experience
Familiarity with advanced statistical modeling techniques
Familiarity with data modernization requirements for large enterprise resource planning systems
Highly preferred: Data analysis skills (e.g., SQL, Python, R) along with a high level understanding of technical patterns used to process, present, and consume data at scale (e.g., relational databases, data storage formats, spark, graphQL)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site):
$160,200 - $182,800 for Manager - Product Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
