About Manager, Pharmacy Workforce Governance

Bring your heart to CVS Health. Every one of us at CVS Health shares a single, clear purpose: Bringing our heart to every moment of your health. This purpose guides our commitment to deliver enhanced human-centric health care for a rapidly changing world. Anchored in our brand — with heart at its center — our purpose sends a personal message that how we deliver our services is just as important as what we deliver. Our Heart At Work Behaviors™ support this purpose. We want everyone who works at CVS Health to feel empowered by the role they play in transforming our culture and accelerating our ability to innovate and deliver solutions to make health care more personal, convenient and affordable.

  Position Summary

CVS Health is on a mission to transform healthcare. With a shared vision to make healthier easier, we are investing in new ways to care for our communities, built on the foundation of our brick-and-mortar footprint. In this environment, success for the Retail business depends on well-designed and effectively governed roles and responsibilities in the stores and field support ecosystem. As our business evolves, roles and responsibilities in the stores and field must adapt and change to drive outcomes and unlock value for the organization. As we seek to strengthen operational outcomes while providing meaningful work that differentiates us from other retail employers, empowering our people with the appropriate roles, responsibilities, and career pathing plays a critical role to business success.

The Manager, Pharmacy Workforce Governance, in partnership with and service to the appropriate cross-functional stakeholders, supports the governance and evolution of existing and new roles and responsibilities in the pharmacy, to improve a range of performance outcomes. Of primary importance, this person brings together various teams working to evolve the role of the community pharmacist at CVS, ensuring all efforts are unified and coherent as we transform our business. Additionally, this person oversees all current and future permutations of the Retail Pharmacy Technician role, including but not limited to Inventory Specialist, Lead Tech, and Tech Team Leader. As our business evolves and store formats change, this person serves as a SME and supporting partner to teams driving fundamental operational changes that impact our pharmacy teams, e.g., Telepharmacy, etc.

The Manager, Pharmacy Workforce Governance marries a commitment to evolving the profession of community pharmacy with a focus on operational tactics that drive awareness, alignment, and performance. This person is responsible to create clarity around job expectations, goals, and KPIs for specialized roles (e.g., Inventory Specialist, Lead Tech, etc.) where they are lacking, and to keep these current as the business evolves, ensuring we are utilizing specialized roles to deliver the required operational and patient care outcomes to unlock broader enterprise value. To that end, the Manager may develop proposals to design, test, and implement new or evolved roles for the retail pharmacy ecosystem to better position the organization for success. The ideal candidate therefore is comfortable with basic cost modeling and business case definition, pilot design and execution, and implementation planning and change management techniques.

With consummate organization, communication, and collaboration skills, the Manager, Pharmacy Workforce Governance effectively partners across Rx Regulatory, HR, Legal, IT, and Operations to deliver results that work seamlessly for our store and field teams. Discretion, judgment, and accountability are essential given the sensitive, impactful, and often confidential nature of the work.
