Description JOB SUMMARY The Manager of Ops Research & Analysis is responsible for driving continuous improvement in operational performance via performance reporting and analysis. The position is also works directly with Amazon's Carrier Management Team to coordinate operational improvements. Ops Reporting & Analysis: Compile and report on daily, monthly, and YTD operational metrics by Line of Business (scheduled service, charters, and freighters) Analyze data to identify "root cause" of variances to goal by operational area Schedule Reliability: Assess changes to schedule structure/tightness for risks to operational reliability Develop schedule "minimum requirements" so that the Network team can build reliable and recoverable flight schedules Flight Crew Productivity: Analzye pilot and flight attendant productivity and identify opportunities for improvement Forecast pilot and flight attendant staffing needs and payroll expense Block Times: Build city-pair, time-of-day, and season-of-year specific scheduled block times Amazon: Serve as the co-chair of the Amazon/Sun Country operations coordination teams Operations Support: Support other operational departments with projects and analysis, as needed Other duties assigned by management SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Team of two to four analysts QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree. Previous airline and/or airline industry experience. Strong analytical skills, including manipulating large volumes of data. Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, graphs, macros, and "linked" spreadsheets. Ability to summarize and communicate the results of/conclusions from the data analysis. Three to five years' analytical and team-leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving and high-demand environment, e.g., by anticipating requests, managing competing priorities, maintaining a positive attitude, and driving toward results. PREFERRED SKILLS Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI. Previous experience with flight crew analytics and productivity metrics Proficient with Microsoft Office, e.g., Powerpoint, Word. WORK ENVIRONMENT This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. On occasion, this position will be required to operate in the Maintenance Hangar.
