About Manager, Marketing Analytics

  MLB’s Strategy & Development (S&D) organization is a centralized resource within Baseball’s Office of the Commissioner.  The S&D organization works cross-functionally across MLB to support the development and execution of our strategies for growing baseball globally.

  As part of our charter, S&D is a service organization that oversees 4 key areas:

  Strategy: Align Industry strategic direction and provide internal consulting services to League Verticals and Functions, Clubs, Office of the Commissioner Club Biz Ops & Strategy: Support development of club strategies, best practices, x-functional dialogue Analytics: Centralized home for data-driven-insights to advise and support Strategy, Clubs, League Verticals and Functions Operations: Implement and stand-up new initiatives

  MLB Analytics team is looking for a Marketing Analytics Manager who will report directly to the Director, Marketing Analytics within the Analytics organization, and will focus on leveraging data and improving Marketing measurement to drive business impact for Major League Baseball and the Clubs.

        Responsibilities:

   

  Scale, scope and deliver marketing analytics projects of all sizes that support MLB marketing and organizational initiatives. Develop tactics and metrics to assess the effectiveness of existing and new marketing, advertising, and branding programs. Develop various parts of the data journey, model marketing data, and provide end-to-end analyses that will be leveraged by various marketing teams and management. Assist with design of experiments to test hypotheses and measure effectiveness of marketing programs, sharing findings and recommendations. Identify areas of optimization and incremental growth for the business as it relates to digital marketing and content, communicating findings to appropriate stakeholders. Support Clubs with digital marketing strategy and reporting frameworks to ensure accurate and insightful delivery of metrics and data.  

       Required Skills & Background

   

  4+ years related experience in an analytics function or role. College/master’s Graduate with a relevant academic major is strongly preferred, though candidates with non-traditional schooling backgrounds and strong relevant experience will be considered. Experience working with marketing teams across multiple disciplines to develop tactical recommendations. Understanding of digital marketing landscape and how data is collected, analyzed, and used. Understanding of various attribution methodologies along with application of Marketing Mix Modeling. Strong aptitude for measurement and optimizations, being able to guide teams on marketing investments, A/B testing and social media content efficacy. Proficiency in quantitative data collection and data analysis (e.g., SQL, Excel etc.) is required. Self-learner, independent, and have outstanding problem-solving skills. Highly professional manner and excellent written and verbal communication skills.  

   

       Preferred Skills & Background

   

  Experiential knowledge of the following platforms: SEM, Programmatic Display, Video, Paid Social, Organic Social Experience with Adobe Analytics, Big Query or Google Analytics. Knowledge of programming languages/tools including R, Python, or other Object-Oriented Languages. Baseball knowledge and/or love of the game of baseball. Consulting, presenting data, with strong story-telling skills and presentation experience.  

  Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000.
