Job Description As Manager, Issuer Relationships at Checkout.com, you will be responsible for leading Checkout.com’s Issuer Relationship engagements in Southern Europe and Nordics. Working closely with Global Head, Issuer Relationships, you will establish a network of strategic issuing banks, build partnerships with Issuers to raise, investigate and resolve soft declines and other payments performance discrepancies, and unearth card authorisation optimisation opportunities for merchants. In addition, you will engage with external stakeholders across forums and thought leadership venues to develop and strengthen existing and prospective merchants’ and partners’ awareness of Checkout.com’s capabilities and focus on payment optimization to drive more business growth for its customers.
You will be experienced and expert in the processes of authentication, issuer risk and fraud management. You can speak with authority and conviction on best practices used by issuers and card schemes throughout their customer lifecycles. You will provide insights on Checkout.com’s approach to tackle declines, share learnings on authorisation improvement opportunities and minimising fraud to commercial and payment performance stakeholders consistently and precisely.
You will be a passionate advocate for Checkout.com’s merchant-centric approach, by taking the lead in engaging issuers and merchants, developing and refining the communication and messaging, to strengthen Checkout.com’s position as a leader in comprehensive data-driven payment solutions.
To help accomplish your responsibilities, you will work with the Financial Partnerships, Payment Performance, Data Analytics and Commercial teams, to ensure a well-rounded view of payments performance and to develop a deep understanding of Checkout.com’s approach. You will be familiar with Checkout.com’s wide suite of data analytics tools and will showcase case studies for external audiences that quantify and convey the impact on revenue, consumer satisfaction, and ultimately loyalty, achievable through a performance-oriented approach.
The ideal candidate must be experienced and well respected, with an affinity for problem solving, eager to ensure that our ability to improve our authorisation rates keeps up with, and supports, our customer growth and our ambitions. This is an external facing role, supporting one of the key competitive capabilities of Checkout.com, and will require the ability to engage with Issuers at all levels.
You will join an ambitious team of partnerships professionals, data scientists and engineers who are working to significantly move the needle within an area that has high strategic importance to Checkout.com.

French Plus: Prior programme level work in Card Authorisation Optimisation, Risk/Fraud Management, has existing Issuing bank contacts or Data Analytics skills preferrable
