FinTech works closely with Finance & business operations to build applications and solutions to enable critical accounting, and finance business processes at Uber. We use industry-standard in Financial and Accounting systems, applying them to our sophisticated global business operations. We provide systems for compliance, data reliability, audit and ensure timely availability of business-critical data. This group is on the critical path to enabling Uber to become a world-class business operation and at the innovative of operational excellence!
As a FinTech expert, you will envision and craft a process-related strategy and product roadmap to enable accurate, standardized, sophisticated, widely embraced financial performance metrics and indicators, working with Global Accounting, Global Reporting and Compliance, and Fintech Engineering Teams at Uber. You will partner with other FinTech, Strategic Finance and Accounting leaders to perform systems analysis and implement new business features and changes across FinTech systems. You'll be responsible for the overall metrics and business impact of your programs. Your performance is measured by the impact of the solutions you launch seamlessly and by your ability to influence and encourage an impactful team that includes Product, Engineering, Accounting, Strategic Finance, and Operations!
What the Candidate Will Do:
This role is a unique opportunity mix of technology, consulting, product development, and project management. The role will require strong skills and experience in Finance product management and needs close collaboration with Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and other partner teams to get a deep understanding of the processes and data flows.
You'll engage in building and improving Financial products globally and drive and deliver impactful projects from core accounting and reportingConduct user research for Uber teams to understand and prioritize use cases to build on the platformWork with various finance team members such as Strategic Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, tax, and other cross-functional customers and teams to get a deep understanding of the processes and data flows, translate business requirements into executable specifications, and solve data metric challengesLead the solutions roadmap and associated key objectives and results; prioritize enhancements, backlog tracking, and executionSupervise end-to-end data flow management for key financial metrics, including impact assessments and change management to teams across UberAre comfortable proposing tech solutions and influencing the direction of the overall platformCarry out standard practices and improve the efficiency of Uber's financial systems, processes, and controls by defining the long-term FinTech strategy, translating objectives into business requirements, build and driving initiatives through implementations.Is self-motivated, exercises discretion and judgment with little to no supervision in carrying out daily tasksLead team members and educate users on the features and benefits of the platform, including documentation, training materials, periodic training
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer ScienceProven experience working on product and data teams building innovative products and applications in the Finance domainExtensive experience with Tier 1 ERP (preferably Oracle EBS) implementing complex financial systems end to endMust have worked on large-scale Finance footprint (General Ledger, Subledger Accounting, Financial Reporting, Project Accounting, Fixed Assets and Reconciliations)Strong experience in leading business process discussions and proposing technology solutions for automation with data qualityGet the data you need and can whip it into an insightful story with no help. You know how to demonstrate data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysisRun your own SQL queries, analyze data to fix or define problemsIndustry reputation and demonstrated track record of managing collaborators and driving sophisticated programs/projects to meet business requirements with challenging delivery dateEffective communicator and able to generate presentations for executive leadershipProven experience in working closely with external vendor customers, especially in the onshore-offshore model.Strong organizational change management and ability to influence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in building financial products ground up with sophisticated business solutions with a global footprintExperience in crafting products around business metrics, planning, and reportingYou feel comfortable leading process discussions and proposing technology solutions that automate and improve processesExperience with implementing Oracle Cloud ERP Finance modules.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$203,000 per year - USD$225,500 per year.
