The Manager, Global Event Operations is a member of the Global Event Operations team, and is primarily responsible for managing a wide range of domestic and international event operations functions including planning, logistics, budget reconciliation, and invoice processing. This role may also provide department-wide event operations support. This role requires the flexibility to travel and to be available nights and weekends throughout the year.
Education and Experience
4 year degree from an accredited university in hospitality, sports administration, communications, marketing, or related field and 4+ years experience in event management, marketing or related functional area; OR equivalent relevant experience
Demonstrated ability to think critically, problem solve and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Demonstrated excellence in detail orientation, organization, and verbal and written presentation/communication skills
Excellent computer aptitude and advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Drive
Fluency or strong proficiency in Spanish required
Knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of baseball preferred
Major League Club experience preferred
Prior experience in events or logistics preferred
Prior experience working in professional baseball/sports and/or special events is a plus
Understanding of the history and culture of baseball preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages operations and logistics for domestic and international MLB events and meetings, including All-Star, Little League Classic, Field of Dreams, Draft Combine, World Baseball Classic, International Games, HRDX, Postseason, Winter Meetings, and other regular season special events
Leads the event operations aspect of the ballpark in various events such as All-Star game, Postseason, and domestic and international special events
Plans and executes ground transportation and airport operations for MLB Global Events
Maintains event contracts, timelines, and key documents for MLB Global Events
Serves as point of contact and manages relationships with various business partners and event stakeholders including but not limited to sponsors, licensees, media partners, ventors, etc.
Works cross-functionally with various internal departments on event-related specifics
Prepares event overview and recap documents for MLB Global Events
Manages relationships with vendors, partners, promoters, and representatives of the 30 MLB Clubs
Coordinates and guides on-site staff during MLB Global Events to facilitate a smooth operation
Executes and processes charter agreements and onsite logistics
Processes invoices and reconciles department and event budgets
Creates, sends, and reconciles event RFPs
Supports larger marketing team to promote events, as needed
Provides general assistance to Global Events department, as needed

Per the NYC pay transparency law, the hiring range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000.
As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
