Role and Scope of Position:
Responsible for managing and overseeing the design, development, scheduling, delivery, and recordkeeping of the Field Training Program. This position ensures all training programs, curriculum, instructional methods, and fieldwork are developed in compliance with the company’s safety policies and programs, as well as Federal, State and Regulatory laws and codes. This position also ensures all classroom and field training is designed to develop the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the safe and effective training of new employees. Training includes both classroom and field training that incorporates conceptual and hands-on instructional methods for non-live gas work, live gas work, and emergency response.
Responsible for the safe conduct of all assigned employees and students and ensures that all work done is performed in accordance with the Company, State and Federal regulations.
Position can be based out of our Westboro, Southboro or Auburn MA. locations.
Essential Functions:
Ensures the efficacy and consistency of training across all disciplines of the program.Manages the development, maintenance, and execution of the training and work plan.Manages and evaluates training activities and overall training program (classroom and fieldwork) for effectiveness based on objective data and appropriately designed requirements and evaluation tools.Ensures all craft and compliance field and classroom training is consistent with, and supports, operating and maintenance standards, processes, procedures, and are in compliance with Federal, State, and regulatory laws and codes.Oversees the management and development of field training staff. Assesses the need for and oversees implementation of the program to ensure employees possess the technical and standardized skills required to support gas operations.Oversees the planning and scheduling of field work and provides reporting on fieldwork conducted throughout the year for the Gas Business Unit’s WorkPlan accomplishments.Responsible for developing and maintaining the program’s budget.Ensures compliance with regulatory and Company work rules and procedures. Understands and complies with labor contracts and works to resolve initial grievances. Initiate appropriate disciplinary action as required.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Requires knowledge of the gas distribution system and design, production plant operation, metering regulations and gas-fired equipment.Requires knowledge of construction, operating and maintenance principles and practices, procedures, safety standards and business processes.Working knowledge of applicable governmental, legal, and regulatory codes affecting natural gas distribution, production, and metering and service activities.Working knowledge of Company-Union contracts.Demonstrated leadership abilities, including ability to effectively provide work direction to assigned personnel according to established work practices, safety standards, and within provisions of applicable Company-Union agreement and Eversource policies.Education:
Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences or equivalent experienceMaster’s degree preferredExperience:
At least Ten (10) years’ experience in Gas Distribution and/or Field Service design and/or installationLicenses & Certifications:
Valid driver’s license requiredCompensation and Benefits:
Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $133,300.00 to $148,110.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.Working Conditions:
Must be available to travel between MA and CT.Work is performed in the office, field and classroom settings, and will require driving and traveling to field sites in varied conditions and terrain, including adverse weather conditions.Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position.
