What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Manager, Environmental Management.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Work effectively with site-wide internal and external strategic partners to include DOE/NNSA Headquarters and the local Sandia Field Office.
Lead this corporate function and be required represent the organization using effective verbal and written communication methods and to seek continuous improvements to the program to ensure it remains technically sound, efficient, and effective.
Work effectively to discuss high level environmental requirements and best management practices in support of our line partners.
Ensure deliverables are met through the effective management of staff and supporting resources.
Organize, prioritize, and follow through to completion on multiple tasks since staff will support the entire laboratory through the performance of aspect and hazard assessments.
Establish clear expectations for staff and defining services to meet customer needs.
Be committed to an ES&H culture and support implementation of programmatic requirements across Sandia.
Be responsible to ensure adequate staff exists to meet deliverables and to mentor staff in their career development.
Onsite workDue to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Qualifications We Require:
Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Engineering or a closely related field, plus at least eight or more years of experience in the comprehensive practice of Environmental Management.
Managerial and/or project/program management experience.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of Environmental requirements and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications We Desire:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Master's degree in Sciences, Engineering or a closely related field.
Two or more years of demonstrated leadership experience as a manager, project manager, or team lead.
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of customers, including the ability to build and lead effective working relationships.
Experience working at a Federal Facility.
About Our Team:
The mission of Sandia's Environmental Compliance & Monitoring Department is to assist with work processes to minimize negative environmental impacts. Through proper planning; relevant monitoring and surveillance; and collecting, analyzing, and distributing data, we assist in meeting regulatory compliance requirements and in ensuring the safety and success of Members of the Workforce, the DOE, and community.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
