Your Opportunity
Third party risk management provides expert oversight and direction to internal and external stakeholders, including on matters related to issues identified in the control environments of third parties engaged by Schwab, in adherence to relevant policies, standards, and frameworks. Reporting to the Director within Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) Issue Management Team (IMT), the ideal candidate will oversee, coordinate, and support third-party issue lifecycle activities.
This position is responsible for supporting the second line of defense third-party risk oversight of Schwab's third-party issue management lifecycle processes and contributing to the continuous improvement of TPRM processes and related activities at Schwab. The candidate may also be assigned to support other teams, processes, or activities across TPRM or directly with other risk management partners as needs arise in other areas. This position requires working with and leveraging other professional groups and partners such as Corporate Vendor Management, Corporate Risk Management teams, and Operations among others. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. This role is required to work onsite within Schwab's facility, with flexibility in work arrangements in alignment with the company-wide Workplace Flexibility Program.

As a Manager, Enterprise Operational Risk Management, your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supporting the following activities:
Effectively partner with a team of internal and offshore professionals to maintain and mature a best-in-class issue oversight team. Influence cross-functional stakeholders (1LoD partners, Legal, etc.) to ensure Schwab implements the best solutions for the company while also adhering to policies and best practices.Manage relationships with cross-functional partners, ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment with shared accountability and responsibility.Continually look for opportunities to drive process improvements, efficiencies, and cost reduction opportunities, while continuing to effectively deliver all projects and meet all service levels.Comply with all Schwab standards and policies.Management of the procedure annual review and update or as required due to regulatory, legal or threat environment requirement. Partner with the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Issues Management organization to influence issue management strategy, policy and standard enhancement as they relate to third parties. Collaborate with the third-party risk review teams, notify/educate teams on changes to the issues management requirements, collect feedback and adjust program fostering a collaborative environment with shared responsibilities. Management of high-risk escalation reporting and approval process for timely senior leadership awareness and oversight.Providing oversight and update to third-party issues within the RCSA environment.Develop and maintain management reporting to provide insights into third-party risk exposures to support senior management's ability to effectively manage related risks.
What you have
A Bachelor's degree and/or relevant risk management certification (CTPRP or equivalent is preferred, but CRISC, CISA, or similar certifications are also useful).3-5 years in large, highly-regulated organizations including direct experience managing risk with a focus on third-parties and/or issue managementUnderstanding of risk management principles, methodologies, tools, and governance principles.Demonstrated excellent communication skills, verbal and written.Experience in responding to risk and regulatory assessments.Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to identify and solve complex issues in a team environment working with various levels of management and business partners.Ability to excel in a fast-paced changing environment and manage multiple initiatives.Strong interpersonal skills/ability to develop positive relationships, collaborate effectively, and establish trust, respect, and confidence with peers in business units and corporate risk management groups.Self-motivated, able to bring projects and tasks to conclusion.Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Excel.Broad understanding of Information Security and GRC tools (e.g., IBM Open Pages). Knowledge of content sharing tools including SharePoint preferred.
