  This individual will be a member of the Global Colleague and Labor Relations team in the United States and is responsible for championing the colleague experience by leveraging Company culture, values, and ensuring equitable resolutions to employee and labor relations issues. The individual's behavior and leadership must model American Express's Blue Box Values and protect the culture of the Company. The person in this role will deliver high quality employee relations counsel and support and must be capable of developing proactive solutions by building strong relationships with stakeholders throughout American Express, including Colleague Strategic Partners, Colleague Market Partners, Compliance, Safety, Security, Audit, Health Services, and General Counsel's Organization.

  The Colleague and Labor Relations Manager is responsible for handling complex and sensitive employee concerns and investigations, including interpersonal conflict in the workplace, terminations, employee complaints, and allegations of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. This individual must provide guidance and consultation to Leaders and Colleague Strategic Partners with respect to reductions in force and reorganizations. The Colleague and Labor Relations Manager must manage and administer a broad range of tasks and projects, which include interpreting policies and procedures as well as ensuring adherence to and the proper administration of the performance management process. The Colleague and Labor Relations Manager is also responsible for training business leaders, employees, and CEG colleagues on appropriate employee relations issues to maintain a productive workforce and to ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws. This individual will leverage data and analysis to identify emerging internal and external trends regarding employee issues and work closely with the Colleague Strategic Partner community to develop comprehensive, proactive plans and strategies to ensure a positive employee experience and to mitigate risk to the business.

  Minimum Qualifications

  5+ years of HR experience, with concentration in employee relations.A solid understanding of federal and state labor/employment laws and governmental compliance requirements.Strong organization skills and a demonstrated drive for results.Excellent relationship skills and an ability to influence leaders and HR colleagues at all levels.Excellent writing skills.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Strong business acumen and solid analytical skills.Strong coaching skills.Ability to conduct sensitive investigations.Bachelor's degree required; Master's highly desirable.

  Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
