Make Your Mark:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager of Database Engineering to lead our database engineering team. The ideal candidate will be an expert in database engineering and administration, capable of managing and optimizing our database systems to ensure performance, scalability, and data integrity. As a manager, you will also be responsible for mentoring and leading a team of database engineers.
You'll Get To:
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Database Management:
o Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our database systems.
o Implement and maintain database best practices to ensure data security, availability, and performance.
o Monitor and optimize database performance and capacity to meet current and future requirements.
• Team Leadership:
o Lead and mentor a team of database engineers, setting clear goals and expectations.
o Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and coaching to team members.
• Database Architecture:
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement database architecture that supports our business requirements.
o Ensure data models and database schemas are well-organized and efficient.
o Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and trends.
• Database Security and Compliance:
o Implement and maintain robust data security measures to protect sensitive information.
o Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
• Performance Monitoring and Tuning:
o Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
o Implement optimizations and improvements to enhance database efficiency.
• Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems, configurations, and processes.
o Generate regular reports on database performance and improvements.
What You'll Bring:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience in database engineering and administration, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of various database management systems, such as [e.g., SQL server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB].
• Proficiency in database design, architecture, and optimization.
• Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., GCP Cloud SQL) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of data security and compliance best practices.
• Certifications such as [specific database-related certifications] are a plus.

• Experience working on cloud platforms GCP, AWS & Azure.
• FinTech or Financial services domain background.

Salary Range:
USD $160,000.00 - USD $246,600.00
Pay Transparency Statement:
Placement within this range depends upon several factors, including the applicant's prior relevant job experience, skill set, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, BlackLine also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans.
