Role:
Are you a passionate leader seeking a challenge? Splunk is looking for a manager to lead and support Splunk's Corporate Data Center Engineering team. You will partner with and mentor internal teams on designing, building, and leading a globally accessible infrastructure while watching capacity, performance, and service availability. You will optimize features and stability, building tools and processes that reduce overhead through automation.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of server, storage, SRE, and automation engineers, providing technical direction and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Design, implement, and maintain Splunk's virtual and physical infrastructure to meet current and future business needs and improve data center services' availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
Oversee infrastructure deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance leveraging automation tools and CICD pipelines.
Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security and performance standards.
Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
Implement performance-tuning measures to optimize resource utilization, enhance system efficiency, and publish service metrics.
Develop and execute a vulnerability management strategy to comply with security policies, protecting the infrastructure against potential threats.
Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and select hardware, software, and services that align with organizational needs.
Conduct regular capacity assessments and plan for future expansion based on business growth and technology advancements.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration with applications and systems.
Requirements:
5+ years of management experience leading high-performance server and storage infrastructure and teams.
Proven ability in people management, showcasing consistent leadership, and effectively mentoring team members is required.
Illustrate comprehensive knowledge of virtualized servers, storage hardware, and software, including hands-on experience with VMware, Hyper-Visor, SAN, NAS, RAID configurations, etc.
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies.
Experience with cloud computing and storage solutions, specifically AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Proficient in implementing and managing server and storage monitoring tools.
Experience implementing standardizations and frameworks such as CCF, NIST, and ISO27001.
Highly responsive with a keen sense of urgency and exceptional customer service skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to communicate with all management levels effectively.
Demonstrate ability to prioritize, set, and meet deadlines effectively in a dynamic business environment.
Possess strong critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Collaborate effectively with staff, peers, and cross-functional partners to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Experience using Splunk tools and solutions is preferred.
A solid understanding of Agile and the Scrum methodology is highly preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent years of industry experience.

Base Pay Range
SF Bay Area, Seattle Metro, and New York City Metro Area
Base Pay Range: $163,200.00 - 224,400.00 per year
California (excludes SF Bay Area), Washington (excludes Seattle Metro), Washington DC Metro, and Massachusetts
Base Pay Range: $148,000.00 - 203,500.00 per year
All other cities and states excluding California, Washington, Massachusetts, New York City Metro Area and Washington DC Metro Area.
Base Pay Range: $136,800.00 - 188,100.00 per year
Splunk provides flexibility and choice in the working arrangement for most roles, including remote and/or in-office roles. We have a market-based pay structure which varies by location. Please note that the base pay range is a guideline and for candidates who receive an offer, the base pay will vary based on factors such as work location as set out above, as well as the knowledge, skills and experience of the candidate. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for incentive compensation and may be eligible for equity or long-term cash awards.
