Your New Role
Manager focusing on the reporting and analysis of legacy WarnerMedia (primarily Consolidated results, legacy Turner and legacy Warner Bros.). Consolidated Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation of consolidated financial statements and related footnote disclosures for inclusion in the Warner Bros. Discovery quarterly and annual SEC filings ensuring results are in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations. Works with the Controllership groups to ensure adequate explanation of submitted results, variance resolution and collaborate on process efficiencies.
Your Role Accountabilities
Reporting and Analysis
Review of monthly Consolidated and legacy Turner P&Ls, question unusual activity, investigate large variances and resolution follow-up on previously identified issuesWork in multiple GL/Consolidation systems to report results, including researching and reconciliation of data in legacy GL and WarnerMedia financial consolidation toolManages the monthly balance sheet reporting process for legacy Warner Bros., including report creation and maintenance (requires through understanding of hierarchy structures), overseeing accuracy of financial reports generated by SAP / BW and assisting with balance sheet data issues that affect the transmission of financial statements to Consolidated WBDResponsible for oversight and review of the preparation/presentation and distribution of the monthly balance sheet package and related reports; prepare schedules for analysis and manage quarterly balance sheet binder used by executive management to review resultsAddress management inquiries/requests for data and analysis spanning multiple finance / accounting areasPreparation or review of selected footnote disclosures prior to submission to WBD external reporting
Process Management
Prepares multiple calendars, ranging from high level executive to detailed taskManages master data process primarily for chart of accounts across Warner Bros. Discovery, working closely with business units, technology and other key stakeholders to ensure that requirements align with current management and external reporting financial data structure and overall governanceParticipate in or lead other key projects and initiatives impacting reporting; collaborate with internal/external customers, business partners and peers to drive efficiencies in processes and effectively meet deliverables
Special Projects/Other
Participate in other key projects and initiatives, including ad hoc reporting/analysis and working on cross-divisional initiatives, as requiredProvide assistance/support to other areas within Consolidated Financial Reporting as needed
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience in accounting and/or financeExperience with SAP/BW, PeopleSoft or other large ERP systemExtensive experience with Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, vlookups, macrosVariance analysis and reporting experience is a plusBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCPA requiredKnowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Strong critical thinking and analytical skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsDetail oriented self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet routine and non-routine deadlinesHigh degree of motivation to deliver a quality productInitiative and willingness to take on additional responsibilitiesStrong organizational skillsCompetent in preparing presentation quality documents and executive level summariesHigh emphasis on teamwork, collaboration, data analysis, and process innovationTeam player who embraces change
