We are currently seeking a Clinical Research Manager to join Stryker’s Instruments division in a remote work environment.

What you will do
As the Manager, Clinical Research , you will serve as an influential contributor to the Surgical Technology (ST) and Clinical Research team partnering with the business unit in the US and internationally. You will provide clinical research strategies, managing the planning and conduction of clinical studies and related activities. The research focus lies on surgical technologies and associated equipment/products to ensure that Stryker partakes of relevant, compliant clinical studies to enable the business to prove the claims of Stryker’s product efficacy, safety, leading to improved health economics and effective patient outcomes.
Development and implementation of appropriate clinical research strategy, providing innovative and evidence-based research to support the achievement of ethical and compliant business goals with close alignment with the ST Business Unit.
Manages the entire clinical study process through to publication and executes clinical research projects and clinical trials; includes clinical study plan, protocol development, contracting, auditing and monitoring, data collection activities and close-out activities and ensure efficient and timely processing of confidentiality agreements and clinical agreements.
Represent Stryker to the associated surgical community.
Lead investigator meetings prior to initiation of clinical trials to ensure compliance with protocol and overall study logistics.
Assist key opinion leaders in the conception, development and conduct of clinical research such as to initiate and/or maintain strong and longstanding relationships with KOL’s, clinics and institutes within the context of the clinical strategy
Ensure that clinical studies support business aims and actively partner with health economics, pricing and reimbursement team to ensure that clinical evidence support reimbursement claims.
Collaborate with Marketing and the divisional clinical team to ensure alignment of product claims and clinical strategy. Draft and review evidence-based promotional literature as needed and develop and deliver clinical sales training to the business.
Manage the ST Clinical Research budget, gain approval for expenditures and manage all aspects of studies conduct and funding within time and agreed budget parameters ensuring cost effective, ethical and results focused, publishable studies.
Monitor outsourced contract research organizations (CROs) in various aspects of management (i.e. budgets, resource allocation) that are relevant to particular project issues.
Have the highest level of ethical behavior to ensure that Stryker’s reputation in clinical research and business activities is never compromised thereby avoiding reputational, legal or financial risk.
Conduct literature searches as needed; i.e., portfolio due diligence, new product segments and competitive analysis, assembly of Value Analysis documentation and sales support.
Establish excellent communication and interaction with key stakeholders (e.g. Regulatory, Health Economics, Reimbursement, Marketing and other relevant Stryker business areas.
Ensure operational aspects of the studies are being conducted in accordance with all relevant ethical and government standards, GCPs, and Stryker Standard Operating Procedures.
Up to 25% travel.
What you need
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a science/research-based subject area
Masters or Advanced Degree preferred
8 years of full-time work experience required
6 years of experience in a clinical, research, or medical device setting preferred
Knowledge and practical application of Good Clinical Practice (ISO 14155) and the Medical Device Directive preferred
Knowledge of technologies relevant to general surgery, obstetrics, or biotech or experience in general surgery obstetrics or a related surgical discipline a plus
Publication and presentation experience a plus
Must be able to work and make independent decisions, learn and understand complex medical information, and be able to take the initiative to assume project activities.
Must be able to think analytically and can learn and process scientific and medical data, with the ability to multi-task and problem solve.
$112,800 - $239,900 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
